He does have to show up. I don't think he's making it necessarily easy on himself here. Just within the last week, handing the symbolic 9/11 pen to the Al Qaeda defense attorney was a bad look going into this with the context of the complaints about him showing up. Is it Natalie Harp? Hasan Piker is not the personal assistant to the president. He’s not Laura Loomer, who gets national security officials fired whenever she snaps her fingers or puts out a tweet. So, you know, one of the things I’ve been a little frustrated with in watching the media coverage is that there seems to be a lack of perspective.
