#WATCH | Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launched the release of the second instalment of financial assistance under the state rural housing scheme at a public event at Nabanna Sabhaghar. Concurrently, the state government officially renamed the state-funded housing initiative from 'Banglar Bari' to 'Paschim Banga Awas.' He says, "Today, the West Bengal government has transferred Rs 6,000 to over 10.20 lakh beneficiaries under the 'Paschim Banga Awas' scheme... So far, the Prime Minister has allocated Rs 30,000 crore for 40 lakh houses in Bengal under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. However, the funds have not yet reached the genuine beneficiaries. We are striving to resolve housing issues in Bengal's rural areas and ensure that the benefits of housing reach the people... Additionally, we are focusing on the 125-day mandate under Digital India and the Prime Minister's flagship 'Swachh Bharat' project, which provides Rs 12,000 for toilet construction. The Railway Minister and I have met with the District Magistrate and even held a conference on this matter. Land needs to be acquired for the double railway line from Nandakumar to Digha; the Railway Board has been repeatedly requesting this. After all, the Vande Bharat train should run from Digha, shouldn't it? And for that, a double railway line is essential. They have been asking for the land for eight years now, but the previous government failed to provide it. Regarding the Nandigram railway project, 74 acres are now in hand, and the work is complete; we are also addressing the need for the remaining six acres...The priority is to establish the double railway line from Nandakumar to Digha; without it, how can the Vande Bharat train operate from here? Every other coastal city is connected to the rest of the country; Digha remains the exception solely due to the negative attitude of the previous government."

Today, we are in Bugisu to expose corruption in local government and strengthen accountability in public service. Following a successful Day One campaign in Mbale District, our determination is even stronger. We are committed to cleaning up Bugisu and ensuring that public resources benefit the people they are meant to serve. The directive by H.E. President Yoweri K Museveni to eliminate corruption, together with the clear instructions from my Chairman, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to stamp out corruption in local government, will bear fruit. Our campaign is restoring accountability, protecting public resources, and ensuring that every shilling allocated to serve Ugandans reaches its intended beneficiaries. We remain steadfast in this mission until corruption is defeated and service delivery is transformed across the country. Next stop: Bulambuli District. Corruption must end. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Hon'ble Chief Minister Sh. Suvendu Adhikari ji for taking up the establishment of a Medical College in Kalimpong district on a priority basis. Since 2019, I have been pushing for the establishment of a medical college in our hills, However, the discriminatory Trinamool Congress government under Mamata Banerjee repeatedly blocked this vital project, denying our people the basic right to quality healthcare and development. Today, under the dynamic and pro-people BJP government led by CM Suvendu Adhikari ji, justice is finally being done for our region and people. The West Bengal government has announced that it will forward the proposal for a Medical College in Kalimpong, along with new medical colleges in Alipurduar, South Dinajpur, and West Burdwan hu. This is a proud moment for the entire region. Immediately after the BJP government was formed, I had written to the Hon'ble Chief Minister requesting for the establishment of the medical college here, and I am deeply thankful that our request has been accepted with such speed and seriousness. I spent the first day of the Bengali New Year, Poila Boishakh, in the most meaningful way possible, among the people, walking with them, sharing their smiles and their strength. This is where I draw my purpose from. Since taking office in 2011, my singular commitment has been to serve my mothers, brothers, and sisters of Bengal, to ensure that their aspirations are heard, respected, and fulfilled. That is the promise I have lived by every single day. But today, it pains me deeply to see the suffering and humiliation being inflicted upon them by Bangla-Birodhi BJP. Their existence is being questioned, their constitutional rights are under threat, and in BJP-ruled states, people are being tortured and tormented. They want to impose uniformity by erasing our language, our culture, our food habits, and our diversity. They believe Bengal can be controlled from Delhi and Gujarat. They are mistaken. Bengal will never bow. It is our collective duty to ensure that Bengal remains in the hands of those who respect our Maa, protect our Mati, and stand with our Manush. West Bengal withdrew from the Ayushman Bharat Scheme in January 2019. Is that good for the people of Bengal? Industries are leaving West Bengal. From 1 April 2011 to 30 September 2025, 448 listed companies and 6,447 unlisted companies have exited the state. Since 2014, ₹5.94 lakh crore has been given to West Bengal as tax devolution - a 4.4× increase compared to the ₹1.34 lakh crore provided during 2004–14. Under SASCI, ₹24,000 crore has been provided as 50-year interest-free loans. AIIMS Kalyani in West Bengal has been opened. Eleven medical colleges have been approved in West Bengal under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS). Under the NDA government, West Bengal received a record railway budget allocation of ₹13,955 crore for 2025–26, which is more than three times the average outlay of ₹4,380 crore during 2009–14. 101 Amrit Stations are being developed in West Bengal at a cost of ₹3,847.5 crore. 1,650 km of railway lines have been electrified - taking total electrification in West Bengal to over 98%. Over 2,300 km of National Highways have been constructed in West Bengal since April 2014. In August 2024, the Government of India approved the development of Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri, West Bengal, at an estimated cost of ₹1,549 crore. - Smt. Ladies and gentlemen, I am extremely proud of this woman. I salute her courage, boldness, and her ability to put every BJP leader, worker, or sympathizer on the mat. TMC is decimated in Bengal, but she is a tigress. She has come to Delhi and is roaring in the powerhouse of BJP. What we hear from BJP—oh, she is so uncouth, arrogant, bla bla. TMC ruled Bengal with an iron hand for 15 years. There were no protests in Bengal because no one dared to come on the road. BJP won Bengal because it was aided by the election commission and the judiciary, and more importantly, the general class and OBCs turned a blind eye. Independent narratives were built so that nothing works in favor of TMC in the media. If it had been BJP instead of TMC, they would have vanished without a trace. Look at AAP— they were routed in Delhi and are disastrous in Punjab, but they brought the mighty BJP to its knees via CJP. The truth is, BJP has become a bunch of vested interests ruling in patches. The only consistent thing they have is Hindu-Muslim, and that's it. They have not built any grassroots cadre and have made ABVP, VHP, and Bajrang Dal toothless. Despite a brute majority in Parliament, they are still begging— 12 years on and still begging. They fear their core voters and workers more than the opposition. The RSS cadres in the government are raking moolah. No new talent. I salute you, Mahua Moitra Ji.

Har Ghar Jal: How Mamata Banerjee’s Government Betrayed Bengal’s Villages West Bengal remains one of the worst performers under PM Modi’s Har Ghar Jal mission. Barely 54% of rural households have tap water connections — far below the national average. Despite thousands of crores released by the Centre, Bengal’s implementation has been marred by corruption, poor planning, and fake reporting. Pipes have been laid without any water source, bills inflated, and projects marked “complete” only on paper. Contractors say they are owed ₹5,000+ crore in pending payments, leaving work stalled across multiple districts like Birbhum, Purulia, Murshidabad, Paschim Medinipur and Darjeeling. For the people, this means continued dependence on unsafe water sources and endless hardship, while the TMC government blames everyone else for its own failure. TMC turned Har Ghar Jal into Har Ghar Scam. Bengal deserves better — not slogans, but safe drinking water in every home. 💧 In the video, BJP MP Raju Bista can be seen inspecting a project site during rescue and rehabilitation work in Darjeeling after the floods. Yesterday, on the solemn occasion of Bhasha Dibas, at the Bhasha Smritistambha at Deshapriya Park, I offered floral tributes to the brave souls whose sacrifice ensured that we may speak our mother tongue without fear. Their martyrdom transformed language into a symbol of democratic assertion and cultural self-respect. I was also privileged to honour eminent personalities from diverse walks of life with the Banga Bibhushan and Banga Bhushan award. Their presence, and the songs and poetry that filled the air, elevated the spirit of the observance into a celebration of Bengal’s creative genius. I was also pleased to confer the Banga Bhushan honour upon Star Jalsha and Zee Bangla in recognition of their significant contribution to Bengal’s cultural landscape. Bengal, and India, are lands of many languages and cultures. As we love Bangla with devotion, we equally respect Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Kurukh, Kurmali, Rajbanshi, Santali, Kamtapuri, Sadri and every other language spoken across our soil. Each language carries within it the history, memory and aspirations of its people. This unity in diversity is our greatest strength. It pains me deeply that divisive forces are attempting to malign and target those who speak Bangla, labelling them as “Ghuspaithiya”, subjecting them to humiliation and persecution. Such actions strike at the very heart of constitutional values. We shall never allow Bengal’s culture, heritage or identity to be undermined by intolerance or narrow-minded politics. Let 21st February renew our collective pledge that no communal or divisive force shall fracture Bengal’s harmony; that no attempt to erode our linguistic pride shall succeed; and that we shall uphold the inclusive and secular ethos that defines us.
