It’s not even that, I just hate when players dive headfirst into 1st base in general. It’s an easy way to break a finger or jam a wrist. Can’t afford that type of injury for Mune especially

Simple fix, he should bat with the sliding glove on. No but seriously I see what you’re saying and don’t like seeing them do stupid unnecessary things to injure themselves. Bottom 9, 0-0 game putting the go ahead run on, IMO felt appropriate to slide.

I believe he was expressing his strong determination, saying something like, “I’m definitely going to win for the team!” That’s the kind of player Mune is. Still, I truly hope he can play without getting injured. Thank you so much for such a kind post 🥹🫧

Is it faster to run through first base? Or is it faster to fall over? I don't recall ever seeing Ichiro Suzuki do anything like this.

I was always told playing that sliding headfirst slows you down going to first. Yet I feel like we’ve been seeing more of it recently. Genuinely wondering what everyone thinks , does it speed you up or only slow you down? (In regards to diving in 1B)

このプレーは確かに危険なプレー。 みんなが心配するのも当たり前。 だけど彼は今一瞬、勝ちに少しでも近づくためのプレーを本能的に選んでしまう。 皆になんと言われようと僕は彼の気持ちを肯定する。何度も言うけどこのプレーは危険で褒められるものではない。でも、この瞬間の彼の思いを思えば僕は涙が出た。
