That's a Napoleonic War French Cuirassier breastplate not medieval armour.

Yeah but you still feel like you got shot lmao

No penetration but it must've hurt nontheless

Blacksmiths had to shoot their own work just to prove you'd survive a musket in the 16th century

musket wins if you're close enough to aim for the gaps

It didn't go through but dents that pronounced in the armor can limit your mobility or cause pieces to lock in place. So like modern armor it can take one or two hits but its not invulnerability.

Not a medieval armor but a Napoleonic era Cuirass made specifically for countering musket fire

That's not Medieval armor

YEAP! THATS SURPRISING!

since most of this time frame wound be volley fire. Which would make a direct shot on the ridge of a breast plate very unlikely. Not taking a shot in the arm, shoulder, hip, neck, or leg is very likely.

I had no idea they had slo mo cams in medieval days.

Not a medieval cuirass. This is more 18th century.

Sure that Cuirass stopped the bullet but I bet it would hurt like a motherfucker

That's a cuirassier breastplate, not medieval.

Muskets would be placed on flanks and would penetrate the sides easily on a quartered man

zero penetration, however...

Either way it made plate obsolete

@Dolfijnmanjohns

They need to bring this show back

Ow.

The pan was filled way too much

That's why I'd hope they're also wearing padded clothing underneath the armor plate to cushion the dented blows.

Not exactly

Hard to imagine that any of the gas ended up at the end of the barrel.

insane meme potential

Souvenir de Malte 🇲🇹

Now, switch that to an anti-materiel rifle.

If it didn't go through. It would knock you on your back and somebody can come up and stab you then.
