Dr Rachel Clarke (Dr Rachel Clarke) says if a doctor brings up assisted suicide with a vulnerable patient who's just been given a terminal diagnosis, it is a form of pressure, and potentially, the doctor could be unintentionally coercing the patient.

In answer to Lord Deben's question to Lord Falconer about whether he agreed with Baroness Murphy that assisted dying is part of palliative care, Falconer replied: "Assisted dying is about giving somebody a good death and I think palliative care is about exactly the same thing."
