@KingsPostWs Civil liability depends on them having been negligent, it being their tree does not in itself create a tort. Do you have any record of the neighbour being told to remove the tree for being unsafe?

@KingsPostWs tree was growing out of the foundation, according to some neighbors it had been leaning more and more over the years, the ground around it was also asphalt. Clearly wasn’t intentionally planted. A city employee took a look after it fell and said it should have been cut long ago.

@KingsPostWs In my experience this can be resolved in the deed/lease where it typically outlines the borders of the property and who owns what. This depends on your local laws, but the duty is usually on the landowner to cover removal. Although US property law is way outside my area.

Yea if you don't have comprehensive insurance you are pretty much screwed. If you do, they it should pay for this. At least in my region trees falling over generally carry no fault to the property owner unless it can be proven they knew it was dead and/or didn't take care of it.

So I doubt that this will be seen and I’m sure the stream is a better place to suggest this, but my idea for the new paint job would be to have the @ or Username of all donors painted all over the car. Real names might not make this the best idea but I just thought I’d suggest it
