NEW: Father walks through 30 miles of debris from Hurricane Helene to get to his daughter's wedding so he could walk her down the aisle. W. David Jones nearly died during his 30-mile trek after state troopers told him the terrain was unnavigable. Jones started driving from South Carolina to Johnson City, Tennessee. When he could not drive any longer, he started walking through the entire night to make it to his daughter's wedding the next morning. At one point, Jones was stuck in the mud to his knees and had to dodge a backhoe that had not seen him literally. At another point, he nearly got hit by a car but waved his reflective stake to avoid being hit. His daughter had no clue what her dad had been through to make it to her wedding.
