that’s exactly how i feel about it. i remember that fans were criticizing the movie from looking too colorful, especially with the blue patterns, and then they chose to change the color grading for the theatrical release which it looked very questionable to some people.

This sort of shows why it looks the way it does. Gunn wanted a lot of scenes to be backlit which meant they also had to be low contrast so he wouldn't lose detail in the shadows.

I love the darker, warmer shadows, such a subtle change but it just makes it so much more colorful imo

thx. the problem with the original is that it had too much brightness to where it makes the outdoors look a bit grayish, so i chose to tone it down some contrast with a bit of saturation to make it more colorful.

This sucks. You cannot color grade anything without the original footage. Color grading something that is already graded will make your choices clash with theirs. This isn’t balanced.

Reminds me of Zack Snyders dc movies in a good way since I’m a fan of those. I prefer this but tbh it doesn’t really fit what James was going for I think. Keep up the great work!!!
