That's all true, and I do not discourage you to be creative. My point is - even in cartoons there needs to be a reason why swords are flying. Like some wizard's magic - but if we are on a way to fight him - background should feel magical as well, stuff like that

If this made its way to console, I’d buy it. I love cuphead. I love this art style and gameplay. More games like cuphead are a good thing. One of my fav games ever is Castle Crashers from Xbox 360 Arcade. Side scrolling platformers and beat em ups are great.
