I have pointed this out for over 20 years. To the CPU there is no such thing as globals or locals, both only exist in the mind of the programmer. They are just places in memory.

That's right, that's why I just use ENV variables.

Your vars are not global enough. I store all mine on the blockchain.

In C, a "global" variable has a logical scope. But if you think of toy languages as JavaScript in the browser, "global" has almost literally the same meaning as in "global warming". 🤣

How you achieve a program that is correct, simple, and efficient (in that order) is up to you. When you do discover the most elegant solutions, they tend to roughly align with all the classic design principles and patterns.
