A lot of buildings around me are more than 50 years old and in dilapidated condition, totally unsafe to live. Their redevelopment process has been stuck for years due to some red tape. Hopefully it’s a positive step to clear all that.

Buildings do not get dilapidated because they are 50 years old. Buildings get 'dilapidated' because someone wants to tear them down & profit from it Repairs cost much less. But no one wants to spend, when they can earn from the re-development loot instead

Redevelopment of majority buildings in Mumbai is direly needed else they are likely to crumble. Any sane individual who supports densification of city, sustainability and allow middle classes to not go missing from hoods of mumbai need to support this move. Lets be a YIMBY.
