My guy is definitely going through something 😭 Seriously though, jokes aside, who is actually working on their training regularly? Are you lifting weights, training your cardio, training at the shooting range, working through your preparedness gear make sure you know how to use everything? As a husband and... father, being prepared is part of the responsibility of protecting your family. You cannot control when a storm hits, the power goes out, roads become blocked, or help is delayed. What you can control is whether you are capable when your family looks to you. Training regularly builds more than muscle. It builds discipline, endurance, confidence, and the ability to function when you are tired, stressed, or afraid. A father should be able to carry his children, help an injured family member, work for hours if necessary, and stay calm when everyone else is looking for direction. Preparedness means having food, water, medical supplies, backup power, tools, and a plan before they are needed. It also means knowing how to use them. Gear without knowledge is just equipment sitting on a shelf. The goal is not paranoia or living in fear. It is becoming difficult to helplessly overwhelm. What does it feel like to realize that, in your little boy’s eyes, you are one of the most important people in the entire world? There's something special about having a young son who looks up to you as a dad. At that age, Dad can seem almost larger than life. The Catholic Church has been consistently AGAINST divorce and separation for 2000 years. Marriage is not a wedding day, it is a death. The death of the isolated self. The death of the idea that your life belongs only to you. Before God, two people walk forward and allow themselves to be bound together, not with flowers or words, but with sacrifice. What happens when a child learns that bad behavior rarely has any real consequences? 👀👀👀 All parents want well behaved children, but how many actually want to be strict and discipline them when they start crossing the lines? It can be easier to give in, ignore the behavior, or hope the child eventually grows out of it. The problem is that children are constantly learning where the boundaries are. If they discover that screaming, throwing a fit, talking back, refusing to listen, or deliberately breaking rules gets them what they want, there is very little reason for them to stop. Young children need boundaries because they are still learning self control. They need to know that when a parent says no, it actually means no. They need consistent consequences when they knowingly cross a line. That does not mean being harsh or losing your temper. Good discipline can be calm, reasonable, and firm. The goal is not to make a child afraid of their parents. It is to teach them that their choices have consequences and that other people deserve respect. There is also a difference between discipline and simply punishing a child. Discipline is about teaching. Sometimes that means taking away a privilege. Universities and High Schools have not moved rapidly enough to guide students to have skills for the next decade. THEY HAVE FAILED. It is a massive crisis that can be averted by understanding what AI and Robotics will bring about. Solutions are knowing how to use these tools and new industries that will rise. But this situation is also on ALL OF US. No “job” is safe from founder to entry level in most industries. You and I, by what we do, will be “replaced” ultimately. What to do? AI and Robotics are tools, the next decade is owned by those who know how to use them expertly, but this is also temporary. We have to understand that what we do for “work” will change giving ultimately a greater value to those that are: Creative Flexible Always learning Willing to be wrong Love being human Love being alive Know history Covet wisdom Knowing all tech has downsides Building strong family and friends Realize many institutions have failed The first four are required for you to be able to live through this period with your sanity intact. The rest will allow you to thrive. There are no true careers at this point anymore. There are advocation and vocations which will either earn you money or give life meaning. We will learn that we are not “what we do”, just like we knew for 99% of human existence. Let that sink in. — You and I are far, far ahead of knowing this and we can do two things: 1) Laugh at the “clueless” 2) Help people understand with grace Go to Reddit if you are 1, in fact don’t follow me because you will not like this next decade and what I post. You are 2 and thank you. Even if you and I have not solved this issue, we can help people understand what is ahead and with determination and creativity bound together to solve it locally. Or human family has done this millions of times. The evidence is: you are here. The Neo Luddite movement has not even begun and it will potentially rip apart society even more than all the fashionable moment in the recent past has. These Luddites will have a good point with the wrong answers cooked up by dying academics that cling to labels, “virtues” and victim hood. It will be readymade for some governments to enter in as “big daddy” to “help us”. You will not like what they do, but you will only know when it is too late. It will include YOU “volunteering” to “leave” by 60, to “help out” CanadaPod style. “Brian, I’m 24 what do I do?”. I hope to do much more here to help. But I do know this: 1) Learn a trade or vocation because it’s valuable. It may also be free to low cost if you do it right. 2) Learn everything you can about USING AI and TRAINING YOUR AI. Your expertise will be in the top 1% for a decade. But not forever. 3) Understand Bitcoin and how it will rise while other things sink. This is a short list for now. We will know more moving forward. When you see videos like this posted below, know one thing: Many of these folks had no real family of mental and physical support. Maybe no parent or one parent. Maybe only a broke system to prepare them for—nothing. This was not their doing. Now it is not your “job” to help them, it is your survival to help them if that is what you need. See some day after the dust settles these 20 year olds will be 40 year olds and running YOUR world. And at some point you may need them more than you think you do. Teaching them to keep their word, finish what they start, clean up after themselves, help around the house, and take responsibility for their choices gives them a foundation they can carry for the rest of their lives. A good work ethic is built the same way. Kids need to learn that not everything worth having comes easily. Sometimes you have to work when you don't feel like it. Sometimes you fail and have to try again. Sometimes nobody is going to do the job for you. That doesn't mean children shouldn't have fun or enjoy being kids. They absolutely should. But love isn't the same thing as making life easy for them. One of the best things a parent can do is give a child enough responsibility to discover that they're capable of handling it. Grip a club in your lead hand. Observe how twisting your forearm changes the angle of the face. This is largely what controls where your ball flies. Small differences in this angle lead to huge changes in shot direction. This precision is not being trained in the gym with “golf exercises”. Poor control of this face angle is what leads to a whole host of swing issues. More so than physical limitations. For example, it is far more likely you come over the top in an effort to stop the ball going right because your face is wide open and you’ve seen the ball go right the last 5000 times than it is you lack hip or shoulder mobility. It would be beneficial for me as a trainer to say otherwise, but I just don’t believe it to be true. Use the gym to work on your physical capabilities. Improve your mobility, strength, and power. These are the things you are losing as you age. Leave the swing mechanics for your practice and golf lessons. If you try to “fix your swing in the gym” you will likely do a poor job of training your swing and your body.

Grip a club in your lead hand. Observe how twisting your forearm changes the angle of the face. This is largely what controls where your ball flies. Small differences in this angle lead to huge changes in shot direction. This precision is not being trained in the gym with “golf exercises”. Poor control of this face angle is what leads to a whole host of swing issues. More so than physical limitations. For example, it is far more likely you come over the top in an effort to stop the ball going right because your face is wide open and you’ve seen the ball go right the last 5000 times than it is you lack hip or shoulder mobility. It would be beneficial for me as a trainer to say otherwise, but I just don’t believe it to be true. Use the gym to work on your physical capabilities. Improve your mobility, strength, and power. These are the things you are losing as you age. Leave the swing mechanics for your practice and golf lessons. If you try to “fix your swing in the gym” you will likely do a poor job of training your swing and your body.

The last time I, Cara was out to visit Scott and April, Scott asked me what it meant when I told him I identified as a brat. A brat is a label in a kink dynamic. They are usually a sub (submissive), but they rarely ever just do what is asked of them. They often make it a challenge for the Dom and require a lot of wit and banter to engage with them. Here is a drill to help you learn what it feels like to use the ground and start to sequence effectively. Notice how the club is setup in the video between my feet. Get to your back swing and jump favoring your lead foot left and laterally like I am. With that feeling step in and hit one. Not where you are pushing off from when you swing and try and get that into a feeling that makes sense to you. This is how power is created in the golf swing. This is also where physical limitations can show up.

NC State Linebacker Drill!🚨🚨🚨 This drill teaches the linebackers to not cross over when coming down at an angle. You have no power when your legs are crossed over. You should only cross over when the ball carrier is out of your range. Keeping a good base and staying squared is very important especially when you are taking on a big offensive lineman. It also teaches them to not double tap their feet when they are changing direction. Dig your outside foot on the ground and get out! Hills I will die on as someone who has coached high school football for over 29 years: 1. If you are not PASSIONATE about blessing, serving, and empowering those you are blessed to coach, this profession is not for you. 2. As much as we need to know our trade, getting to know (and to love), our players is far more important. 3. This is an INTENSE game, and it’ll never be “just a game”, but it IS a game. Remember that when you’re with your team, and more importantly, remember that when you’re with your family. 4. Just as we teach our athletes to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our athletes better than they were when they first entered into our program. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every individual. 5. Life is complicated enough, let’s not complicate the game in such a way that we take the joy of it away from others. In other words… Keep it simple. 6. Our words carry little (or NO), value, if we don’t practice what we preach. WE as coaches should be learning and growing each and every day, just as we expect our athletes to. 7. As much as we all want to win those championship rings for our athletes, make sure you don’t lose your wedding ring in the process. 8. The athlete that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING. Get to know them as human beings, find out what motivates them, and do everything you can to help them to thrive. 9. Be where your feet are. People say running is bad and that it makes you look old and wastes away your muscle People are dumb That only happens if you run for to long at to high of a heart rate If you run at 130-140 beats per minute with a smile on your face it’s actually some of the best therapy there is If you are running and you can’t smile and it looks like you are in agony and can’t hold a pleasant conversation you are doing it wrong and that’s what will cause you to look old and frail This is called “the sweet spot” folks and it can be used for way more than just running

I don't care about what you want. I care about what you repeat. Because your brain does not run on intention. It runs on repetition. Every thought you keep returning to, your brain treats as a signal. And the more you send that signal, the stronger and faster that neural pathway becomes. Here is the science behind it.
