🌊🌧 #MumbaiRains #floods: Why was flooding so severe in #Vasai, #Virar & #Nalasopara this time? 🌧️ The rainfall was exceptional across the entire region. Both Vasai-Virar and its surrounding river catchments witnessed very heavy to extremely heavy rains. However, the widespread flooding wasn't caused by rainfall over Vasai-Virar alone, it was the result of multiple factors occurring simultaneously, with enormous upstream river discharge, tidal locking and urban drainage systems struggling to cope with such unprecedented volumes of water. The Ulhas River, originating near Lonavala, received extraordinary inflows after its upper catchment recorded around 1569 mm of rainfall in just 3 days. Torrential rain across the Ulhas Valley, Pune Ghats and Thane interiors sent enormous volumes of water into Vasai Creek.🌊🏞 At the same time, intense rainfall over the Nashik Ghats ⛰️, Igatpuri, Trimbakeshwar, Shahapur and Palghar swelled the Vaitarna River, which drains into the sea just north of Virar. The Tungareshwar ranges ⛰️ also received torrential rain, with numerous streams and nallas adding further runoff into the Vasai-Virar drainage network. Meanwhile, Vasai, Virar and Nalasopara themselves were experiencing torrential rainfall of about 600-700mm in last 3 days, generating massive local runoff. This event was a classic example of record-breaking rainfall across multiple river basins, intense local rain, tidal locking and urban infrastructure struggling to cope with an unprecedented volume of water. Today, inflows into the river systems 🌊 remain high, and several areas may continue to experience waterlogging and flooding. However, with rainfall expected to gradually reduce from now, river levels should slowly begin to recede as the excess water drains into the sea. It’s coming out of the Newport Pumping Station The City sometimes injects colored dye into drains and sewer to watch where it emerges to map flows and or study river dispersion This could be that, or this could be something else being dumps directly into the Ohio River…. The EPA should be checking this out to verify

Flipping houses, or rehab and resell, is a game that seems to be the craze these days. People with little (myself) or tons of money think they can buy a dump of a house, shine it up, and make $100,000 without a problem. So, I gave it a try, putting my proverbial chips in the middle and going all in. Renovated it in 63 days. New roof, HVAC system, electrical panel, kitchen, bathroom, doors, trim, flooring and paint. I listed it, and then it just sat—hours, days, weeks, months — costing me $100 per day in holding costs. We adjusted the price, staged furniture, and reshot photos, but it sat, but why? The basement was wet, which is the kiss of death in real estate, I have learned. As a GC, I have access to a network of subcontractors and skill sets that many people don't, though that doesn't mean repairs are free. After spending $60,000 in renovations, $14,000 in closing costs, and $32,000 in holding costs I was taking a loss on selling this house. Then, I had to put another $15,000 into it to stop water from entering the basement. It is what it is. The house is now under contract, and we feel good about things, which is a distraction from the other house I bought in the middle of all of this until my guy sent me this video yesterday as he was leaving….

And we’d be competing against a bunch of local developers. We went in another direction. To be honest this is a plan/project we’ve been working on for the last six months. I’ll cut to the chase. We bought a house under construction four doors down. It’s already part of Hope and the herd’s habitat so the adjustment should be fairly smooth. If you look at the first photo shot from the top floor of our new house you can see our small ranch rental between the blue house and light brown one. We’re moving in. Some of our deer friends have already joined us. See short video shot from our new rear deck.

My brother lives in Germany. Today, he sent me this video from Germany. He showed drainage water in Germany and how clean it is, you can’t even differentiate between drainage water and clean water. He further said something in his next message on WA that broke me. He said that non-drinkable drainage water in Germany is cleaner than the drinkable water in Indore and most parts of India. India is doomed 💔

He then installed two large wind turbines in front of the exhaust fans. The wind turbines spin at high speed all day using the strong air coming from the exhaust fans and generate about 30 units of electricity every day, around 900 units per month, and nearly 11,000 units per year. He uses this electricity to power his house, saving around ₹80,000 every year. Now he has to pay a much lower electricity bill. $Hard to put into words what happened yesterday. I had zero awareness of the car that nearly brushed us on the right. In a fraction of a second it moved us from the middle lane into the left lane. My wife and I were completely speechless. We’re both safe because of that reaction. If we had stayed in the lane, things could have gone very differently. This is the kind of moment that makes you trust the system.$
