My iPhone is being weird today and is unlocking itself without using Face ID, nor is it asking me for the password. I have both, password and Face ID set up properly. Running iOS 17.1 Beta 2. I can actually sue Apple for this 😂

Even on stable iOS 17.0.3, I’ve been experiencing issues with Face ID. You can’t sue Apple for running BETA software though. That’s liable on you.

Maybe the timeout setting is set at 30 seconds or something, try resetting face id and change it

no its set to immediately, faced this issue yest night as well, and when i woke up in the morning, it didnt even use faceid or ask for my password lmaoo

As you can see in this video, he demonstrates the process of him unlocking the phone first and then giving it to his brother. Surprisingly, Face ID recognised his face as well and unlocked the device! Neither are they twins, nor does his brother use his phone very often. However, this isn't the first time that my friend faced this problem. The same issue cropped up around one year ago, which resulted in him resetting his Face ID data. Privacy. That's iPhone. Sigh.

Well here’s something interesting: I’m going through my tech archive (to sell some of it!) and booted up this iPhone 5S for the first time in a while. For some reason it won’t accept any password, even the one I know is correct (not shown in the video). But it also won’t disable itself? So weird. Oh well, I was just booting it to erase it anyways lol

Touch ID on iPhone Duo is actually VERY fast. I think people are testing it wrong by just holding their finger there and waiting. Tap Touch ID + swipe up and you’re in almost instantly. We’ve always had to swipe up to get into an iPhone anyway. #iPhoneDuo #TouchID #Apple #iPhone

Everyone said "Hey Grok" was impossible on iPhone. Even Grok said Apple keeps wake words for Siri only. So I kept digging, and I found a way. Now I just say "Hey Grok" and Grok Bot voice chat opens. No extra apps, no cost, all built into iOS. How to set it up: 1. Make sure your Grok Bot app is up to date 2. Shortcuts app → + → Add Action → search "Grok Bot" → pick "Start Voice Chat with Bot" 3. Settings → Accessibility → Vocal Shortcuts → Set Up → pick that shortcut → type "Hey Grok" and say it 3 times 4. In the shortcut's details, turn on "Allow Running When Locked" If your phone is locked, iOS asks for one tap first. If Face ID already unlocked it, it's fully hands-free.
