My latest project. Created for Ali Abdaal's excellent new book, Feel-Good Productivity. A few highlights 👇

From the very moment I saw the proposed book cover, I knew I had to incorporate the satisfying coloured blocks into my hero! I thought it would be cool for the user to literally ‘build’ the book themselves. Fortunately, @webflow interactions made this possible!

These are often only seen on SaaS sites, but I thought it would be a logical (and fun) way to prompt pre-orders for the book. There’s just something so tempting about hitting a key… 🫠 DM me if you ever need the .keydown code snippet I used!

Inspired by the glorious portfolio site of @SergioLavanga and an amazing tutorial from @WebIsBae, I used p5.js to create a subtle and clean background effect. Both of these individuals are immensely talented so go and check them out :)

I created two simple, but satisfying hover-state interactions beneath-the-fold. I wanted the site to feel playful and interactive, without going over-the-top. LottieFiles is a great website to find lightweight animations which you are also able to customise.

This was probably @aliabdaal’s favourite feature. A clean, responsive way to guide you through the book’s sections, whilst visually building the book alongside. Massive shoutout to the genius that is @vimalan_vijay for helping me troubleshoot a few safari issues <3

BONUS: You’ll be able to make a certain something perform a little jiggle on the site.. ..but I’ll let you find that one for yourself

We had a pretty tight turnaround for this project and we were making edits right up until the last minute. Fortunately, I had an incredibly supportive team alongside me, who moved heaven and earth to make my life easier. I really appreciate you all. Check them all out below!
