Did the super rich secretly import foreign soldiers from Afghanistan? No, the government did. So why do you want to give the government even more money?

Profilbild von Paul Storey

The thing is Gary, no body wants to give more money to the government because they don’t spend it effectively. If governments were great allocators of capital, it would be a different conversation but they’re not, sadly. So why don’t you set up a philanthropic organisation that the super rich can donate to, hopefully in huge sums, and you can allocate that capital to good causes and people that really need it - without the waste, fraud and abuse…

You are actually missing a chromosome. You are claiming to know when people have enough. Did Elon Musk have enough after he made his first $10million? Or did he compound that to $300bn? How many jobs would not have been created and millionaires made if $10million was enough?

How do you look at the way the government spend our tax money and come to the conclusion - ‘yeah we should give them even more money to spend’? We’re all taxed enough, including the rich. The money is there, our governments fritter it away and spend it on anything but improving lives of people to paid into the tax system.

Not sure what’s more cringe—watching you perform, or knowing how much of your backstory is pure fiction. Maybe it’s just the narcissism, or the way you profit off people who don’t know better. Either way, you’re a disgrace—masking self-interest with faux concern while spouting nonsense you know is absurd.

Fiat currency is the problem! Not the rich who work hard; Government issued fiat money needs vi0lenc3 and pr0paganda to thrive, #Bitcoin  is simply the immutable truth ledger in cyber space that nobody can alter or manipulate, It's got ALL the carachteristics for sound money; 6 carachteristics of sound money: 1. Durability 2. Portability 3. Divisibility 4. Fungeability 5. Scarcity 6. Acceptability #Bitcoin  is so perfect that it adds a 7th property; IMMUTABILITY Uninflatable by banksters, Unmanipulable by politicians, Incorruptible by anyone, Available 24/7, for anyone, anywhere on the planet, forever. Like gun powder, if you dont adopt it, you'll be its victim. Fact!

What’s the Alternative? Let’s imagine a society without entrepreneurs. No new products. No new jobs. No innovation. Who allocates resources? The state? The same state that can’t build HS2 on budget or staff the NHS properly? The idea that central planning will outperform the decentralised ingenuity of millions of entrepreneurs is utopian fantasy, and we’ve seen how that ends in Venezuela, Cuba, and the Soviet Union.

The Laffer Curve Is Real It’s not just theory, it’s economics. Something I thought Gary was supposed to be an expert in. There’s a tipping point where higher tax rates lead to lower overall tax revenue, because people change behaviour: they move, invest less, or stop expanding. The most productive individuals already pay a disproportionate share. In the UK, the top 1% of earners pay over 28% of all income tax. Chase them out, and everyone suffers, especially the working class who rely most on public services.

History and data show that punitive taxes on wealth don’t work. They don’t raise much money and usually drive capital and talent out of the country. France (and many other countries) tried a wealth tax and lost thousands of millionaires. They later scrapped it. The UK should learn from this, not repeat it.

Problem with Gary is that, though lovely and well meaning, he hasn't a clue about how much tax the rich are already paying, as was clear during questioning when he was on Diary of a CEO. Already the rich are leaving the UK in droves, but he carries on preaching with his head in the sand. And then to reduce their tax, under the complex 'leaving' rules, they still get taxed on UK assets like dividends on their UK shares, so they have to sell them - another blow to the British economy. Money flows to where it is treated best, and many European countries are offering welk-off and evrn ordinary UK 'leavers' attractive deals - Italy, Ireland Malta, Greece, Dubai. Gary, WAKE UP!! As such a brilliant economist, you have to find OTHER and BETTER solutions!

We treat the rich like they're smarter – that’s why they’re rich, right? But if they can’t grasp that wrecking the very system that made them rich is short-sighted and self-destructive… maybe we’ve overestimated them.

Whether it’s Steve Jobs, James Dyson, or your local business owner creating 15 jobs in your community, value creation comes from people who take risks and deploy capital efficiently. Governments don’t innovate. They redistribute. And they often do it poorly. If you want better public services, you need a thriving economy to fund them, not more taxes on the productive.

Do we have a problem if someone gets wealthy for providing value. I hope not. Even it makes them super rich. So what do we have a problem with? The relationship between wealth and power. Business and government. Break that connection.

Gary has identified the Problem. His prescription is overly simplistic, it’s a moronic take to believe in a single ‘magic bullet’ solution (tax the rich) Your position ignores several key issues affecting your followers and their futures. 1. A broken, corrupt monetary system. You ignore one of the key solutions is for your gen Z flock is for them to learn about what money is, what’s wrong with our present system and how Bitcoin (not crypto) is a way for them to engage in capital without being robbed by inflation - but you tell them it’s a scam..!! 2. The impact of AI. You have no obvious/clear thesis on this despite its importance to your followers. 3. Simply blaming ‘the rich’ for all our economic and societal ills is just plain wrong. The fault lies with our politics and the monetary system that underpins the economy. The combination of such myopia - is you are effectively blind siding your followers into believing everything will be fine if we just tax the rich. Yes Gary. I agree the wealth and corps should pay their fair share… but to consider this the one and only reason for our problems is just irresponsible nonsense! Your fans aren’t victims. They need arming with knowledge!

Envy Disguised as Morality Much of the push for redistribution isn’t about economics, it’s about resentment. “Tax the rich” sounds good to someone struggling, but it’s often driven by emotion rather than reason. It assumes all wealth is unearned, all rich people are hoarding, and all problems can be solved by taking rather than creating.
