Training for an Ultra in 100 Degrees I think there’s an argument that this year’s Javelina 100 was the hottest super-competitive ultra ever run. Nearly 100 degrees record heat, absolutely no shade or creeks, with a 5-day desert pre-bake. Also, I always thought that I sucked in hot weather. We were going to have to science the crap out of this problem. My heat training protocol involved 3 interventions: 1. Passive heat exposure via hot tub. Studies on hot water immersion show an increase in blood volume and heat tolerance, plus enhanced capillary function 2. Active heat exposure via heat suit training. Since 2021, 10+ studies have shown that as little as 3 weeks of heat suit training sessions can increase hemoglobin mass. My heat suit involved a base layer of normal running clothes, a sweatshirt under a down jacket, and polyester sweatpants under winter rain pants. Plus a fuzzy hat 3. Strenuous heat exposure via treadmill workouts in a warm room Here is the protocol Megan and I settled on to balance stress with training adaptations: 1. Hot tub at 104 degrees F 2-3 times per week. I stayed in until my heart rate reached 100-110 (100 on rest days, 110 when immediately after training) 2. At 4 weeks out, I started using the heat suit for 15 minutes on the uphill treadmill after runs 3 times per week, starting at moderate intensity to get my core temperature up rapidly, then dialing it back. 3 weeks out, I added 1 x 90 minute heat suit run. 2 weeks out, 1 x 90 min heat suit bike plus a 1 hour heat suit run 3. Two massive treadmill workouts in a room that was around 80 degrees 2.5 and 3.5 weeks out 4. On race week, I did hot tub every day including the day before the race, since studies show the hemoglobin mass adaptations can reverse rapidly In the race day furnace, my main goal was to gaslight myself into thinking I enjoyed the heat (which is also backed up by studies finding that emotional perception of temperature influences physiological response). In reality, I still don’t love the heat. But I love science. And I think we scienced this problem so hard that I had one of the better heat performances ever 🔥🧡 Race video from the amazing Emily Cameron 🙌

Here's my conversation all about AI in 2026, including technical breakthroughs, scaling laws, closed & open LLMs, programming & dev tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, etc), China vs US competition, training pipeline details (pre-, mid-, post-training), rapid evolution of LLMs, work culture, diffusion, robotics, tool use, compute (GPUs, TPUs, clusters), continual learning, long context, AGI timelines (including how stuff might go wrong), advice for beginners, education, a LOT of discussion about the future, and other topics. It's a great honor and pleasure for me to be able to do this kind of episode with two of my favorite people in the AI community: 1. Sebastian Raschka (Sebastian Raschka) 2. Nathan Lambert (Nathan Lambert) They are both widely-respected machine learning researchers & engineers who also happen to be great communicators, educators, writers, and X posters. This was a whirlwind conversation: everything from the super-technical to the super-fun. It's here on X in full and is up everywhere else (see comment). Osteoporosis...The Debilitating & Painful Condition Can Be 100% Reversed & Healed Without Big Pharma. The Remission Protocol That Never Involves Harmful Calcium Supplements & Toxic Prescription Medications. Even After Decades Of Chronic Pain & Fractures, Bones Can Be Rebuilt. Osteoporosis can be completely 100% healed thru nutrient dense animal foods & weight bearing exercise to rebuild bone. I did it 8yrs ago after suffering from Osteoporosis for 30yrs. Osteoporosis Rx meds do not rebuild bone, in fact they decimate the jaw bone & are causal for fractures. Calcium supplements are harmful as they are causal for calcification of the arteries & make bones brittle. I had chronic daily bone pain & 5 fractures between 2011-2016...It took 12 months using a 3 part protocol I researched & developed to reverse & heal. I no longer have the diagnosis of Osteoporosis, no pain, no injuries, no fractures....and definitely no Rx meds like Fosamax, nor any synthetic calcium pills. How To Reverse Osteoporosis 3 Part Protocol: 1⃣ Nutrition: Animal Sourced Protein & Fat Bones are made up of 50% protein & 50% minerals. The protein is within a collagen-protein matrix. Osteoporosis cannot be reversed without an abundance of animal sourced fatty meat & eggs, containing high amounts of collagen. These are the building blocks that bones need to rebuild. Consume daily a minimum of 1 gram protein & 1 gram fat per each pound of desired body weight. For example, someone weighing 150 lbs needs a minimum of 150 grams of protein & 150 grams of fat from animal sources. Here's an example of what that would look like in a day: 1 lb (454gr) of red meat, 1/2 lb (227gr) of wild caught salmon & 4 eggs, plus animal based cooking fats. Focus on natural collagen from whole cuts of meat, organs, connective tissue, eggs & beef stock, tallow, butter & ghee. Eliminate as much dietary sugar as possible, including Carbohydrates. Glucose removes minerals FROM the bones & is a direct cause of Osteoporosis. High glucose is bad for bones. 2⃣ Sun Exposure & Supplements Our bodies needs at least 20 minutes of daily sun exposure for cholesterol synthesis of Vitamin D3. Bone tissue is also a mineralised matrix of inorganic various salts. In order to rebuild bone, major & trace minerals must be in the diet everyday. The 12 major & 60+ trace minerals are contained in unrefined mineral salt which is needed everyday. Unrefined salt...NOT toxic table salt. 💊For example, Boron plays a critical role in bone density. Optimal Testosterone Levels in both men & women are required for rebuilding bone. Boron increases Testosterone production. 💊Magnesium is deficient in upwards of 80% of the population & is used in over 300 bodily functions including skeletal muscle health, bone density & is the activator key for D3/K2. Magnesium Glycinate & Threonate are the top bioavailable forms. 💊Vitamin D3 & K2 are also required in order to bind Calcium to the bone matrix. Natural food sources of D3 & K2 are best, abundant in eggs & red meat. 3⃣ Weight Lifting To Rebuild Bone Density 2 million fractures occur annually from Osteoporosis & 60% of those never regain full range of motion or strength. Current marketing heralds Calcium supplement intake & Rx medications as prevention, but both contribute to fractures & heart damage. Weight Bearing exercise like squats, presses, deadlifts & lunges using free weights, barbells, weight machine & weighted vest...signals the body's Osteoblasts to begin building. The Osteoblasts use the collagen-protein matrix & mineral salts from the diet as raw materials for your spine, pelvis, legs & arms stimulating new bone growth on whatever bones you are targeting with weights. The stronger your skeleton, the more protection against fracture. Cardio will not rebuild bone. 2 books that taught me foundational principles that have carried me thru the years as I have advanced to my current program. "The New Rules of Lifting" by Lou Schuler "The New Rules of Lifting For Women: Lift Like a Man, Look Like A Goddess" by Lou Schuler Aim for at least 3 days of weight lifting per week for at least 20 minutes for bone loss reversal. Comment 'SALT' & I will send you the link to the unrefined mineral sea salt I use for remineralization. And of course feel free to ask questions thru replies or DM, I am always here for all of my friends! 👇Calcium Supplements Cause CVD & Stroke👇 👇Fosamax Causes Fracture & Jaw Deterioration👇 👇Calcium Supplements Cause Urinary Stones👇 Speaker: Barbara O'Neill

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang says one scaling law multiplies AI faster than NVIDIA can hire engineers. Most people know three AI scaling laws. Pre-training. Post-training. Test-time. Each one multiplies intelligence by throwing more compute at a different stage. Jensen Huang says there's a fourth and it's the one that will dominate... Agentic scaling law. "During test time, that agentic system goes off and does research, bangs on databases, uses tools," Huang says. "And one of the most important things it does is spawn off a whole bunch of sub-agents." That's the multiplier. One AI worker can become a team. Then a department. Then a company. "It's so much easier to scale NVIDIA by hiring more employees than it is to scale myself," Huang says. Now imagine scaling without a payroll constraint. "The agentic scaling law — it's kind of like multiplying AI," Huang says. "We could spin off agents as fast as you want to spin off agents." Each agent spins off sub-agents. Each sub-agent spins off more. The compute requirement compounds inside a single query. And every agent generates new data, new experiences, new edge cases. "Wow, this is really good. We ought to memorize this," Huang says. "That data set comes back to pre-training." The four scaling laws don't compete. They feed each other. Agentic systems produce data, which feeds pre-training, which smartens the base model, which enables better agents, which produce more data. A flywheel that compounds forever. The companies pricing in three scaling laws are mispricing the fourth. The fourth eats the other three for lunch. P.S. Pull the thread on any story like this and you'll find the hidden incentive at the other end. As Munger said: "Show me the incentive and I'll show you the outcome." So I wrote a short book on how to spot them and design your own. Comment "INCENTIVES" and I'll send you the details. Using A Carnivore Elimination Diet To Heal GERD How I Eliminated 15yrs of Chronic PPI Proton Pump Inhibitor Medications(Nexium, Aciphex & Prilosec): Adopting A Ketogenic Proper Human Diet & Going As Strict As Needed To Eliminate Symptoms. For me, that meant in order for my Stomach & Esophagus to heal I needed to eat Beef only. Using Carnivore as an Elimination Diet allows for discovering how each item encourages healing or is harmful & flares symptoms. The following items worsened my reflux & needed to be eliminated until complete healing took place: vegetables, coffee, tea, spices, sausage, pork, chicken & eggs. Very Slow Taper Of PPI Meds To Eliminate & Prevent Severe Rebound Reflux. Start Taper Only After Achieving No GERD Symptoms On The Ketogenic Diet. All of the GERD trigger foods need to be identified first & eliminated prior to tapering medications. Cut tablets in 1/2 dose per day - or - a full dose every other day. Stay On This For 2 Weeks, Then Cut Dose In 1/2 Again -or- full dose every 3rd day. Continue this taper pattern in 2 week cycles. Keep Tapering Until Off Meds Completely. When GERD Free & PPI Free, reintroduce 1 food, drink or spice item at a time & watch for GERD symptoms to resurface & evaluate. At 7yrs healed, I have been able to add items back in since year 2. Coffee, Tea, Eggs, Sausage, Pork & Chicken are back into my way of eating with no issues or recurrence of symptoms. Vegetables & Spices are gone long term, not because of GERD symptoms but because many are high in harmful Oxalates. 9 illnesses that healed were from Oxalate Toxicity, from over consumption of High Oxalate foods daily, prior to 2017. You are your own n=1 Experiment. You can heal by discovering which foods or beverages or spices are triggers for GERD, eliminating them until symptoms are gone & stomach/esophagus heals, taper off of meds, then reintroduce the eliminated foods. My Twitter friend Ken D Berry MD describes exactly what I did to heal GERD.

💥 HIGH PROTEIN BREAKFAST BAKE (46g protein, 6 net carbs) Sometimes you just want something simple in the morning that actually keeps you full all day. I’ve lost close to 150lbs and breakfasts like this have been the game changer for me to staying full, staying on track, and getting my protein in. Cut into 3 MASSIVE portions, this ends up being 45g protein, just 6 net carbs, and 385 calories. I topped mine with my shredhappens creamy sriracha sauce, but honestly it’s delicious straight out of the oven, or with just some hot sauce. This also freezes well, so it’s a great healthy meal prep option if you want easy healthy breakfasts for the week. INGREDIENTS: 8 large eggs 5oz diced leftover chicken 2 servings 2% cottage cheese 1/2 cup finely diced broccoli 1/2 cup finely diced spinach 2 scallions thinly sliced 1 tbsp smoked paprika 1 tbsp thyme (or oregano) A couple pinches salt + pepper 1oz Parmesan finely grated on top Avocado oil spray Here is how I made it: 1.Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly spray an oven-safe dish with avocado oil. 2.Crack 8 large eggs directly into the dish, add 5 oz diced cooked chicken (leftover chicken or rotisserie works perfectly here!) 3.Add 1/2 cup super finely diced broccoli,1/2 cup finely diced spinach, and 2 thinly sliced scallions. 4.For a little more protein, scoop in 2 servings of 2% cottage cheese, and season with 1 tbsp smoked paprika, 1 tbsp thyme (or oregano), and a couple pinches salt + pepper. 5.Mix everything gently right in the dish until evenly combined, then top with 1 oz finely grated parmesan. 6.Pop it into the oven for 40 minutes. Then remove, and let cool for 20-30 mins, and cut into whatever size you want, and top with your favorite sauce. ENJOY! . . . . #highprotein #lowcarb #lowcarbrecipes #healthyrecipes #mealprep

JJ Redick's offseason training was insanely rigorous and detailed: “If you want to have a full bucket of water, that’s the goal in life. You want a full bucket. But all you can do is add one drop at a time, so add as many drops as you can." "Every time you get in a cold tub. Every time you lift weights. Every time you have an hour-long shooting workout. Every time I did my pregame shooting workout. Every time I did my post-shootaround shooting workout. It’s all drops in a bucket." "My offseasons were harder than the season. That’s a fact. That’s a big reason I retired, because I couldn’t do another offseason." "My offseasons were six days a week, with two or three workouts a day. Saturdays were off. Every Sunday during the offseason, for the last 13 years of my career, I made exactly 342 shots." "Seven spots on the floor. Twenty spot-up twos. Twenty spot-up threes. Three-dribble pull-ups going right. Three-dribble pull-ups going left. Plus 20 free throws. That’s 342." "I started cold tubbing, and they wanted me to stay in for 12 minutes. Then I started thinking, ‘If I start my timer a little too early, I’m not going to get the full 12 minutes. I don’t want to cheat myself.’ So I started cold tubbing for 12 minutes and 25 seconds, just to give myself some wiggle room. "Everything in my routine was structured. On a normal game day, I knew exactly what I was going to eat for breakfast. I knew exactly when I was going to get to the gym. I knew exactly how many minutes I was going to spend in the hot tub before I got on the training table. "Then I got my activation work in the weight room. Then I did my pre-shootaround shooting. Then my post-shootaround shooting. Then my cold tub. I knew exactly what I was going to eat for lunch. "I knew exactly when I was going to nap. I had my naps timed out." "By the end of my career, if I said, ‘I need to fall asleep at 1:05 and wake up at 3:30,’ I could do it like that." "Especially once my kids were born, I didn’t take vacations. I would build three- or four-day breaks into the offseason just to give myself some clarity and relieve some of that pressure." "But my offseasons started the next Monday. If the season ended Saturday, I was in the gym Monday." "I loved the process. I loved everything that went into it.”
