Pavel's approach to difficult emotions is completely counterintuitive. As he puts it: "I'm a human being like everybody else. I do get to experience emotions and some of them are not very pleasant. But I believe that it's the responsibility of every one of us to cope with these emotions and to learn to work through them." On what creates depression: "Self-discipline is particularly important because without it, how can you overcome this seemingly endless loop of negativity or despair that ultimately leads to depression for some people?" His method: "One of the reasons I don't have depression is I start doing things. I identify the problem, I can see a solution, and I start executing the strategy. If you are stuck in this loop of being worried about something, nothing's ever going to change." The mistake people make: "People often make this mistake thinking 'Oh, I should just have some rest and then regain energy.' This is not how it works. You gain energy by doing something. So you start doing something, then it happens. You feel motivated, you feel inspired, and then ultimately you do something else a little bit more." Real estate agent and brokers. The recent ruling in Missouri is wrong, will only benefit litigators, ambulance, tracers, and I believe will be appealed. More importantly, this ruling will not negatively impact housing or buyers agents unless you allowed to iMessage to all homebuyers I have never as a professional real estate investor not used a buyers agent to represent me in a transaction. Even when the deal was off market, I hired an agent to represent me to make sure that all my rights were protected and that I got the best price. If you pay a bar’s agent is nothing compared to what they can get done for you as a buyer, I will never ask for a discount. I will always use the agent to go get that discount for me more importantly, or as importantly, I will always use the agent to keep the deal together. The purpose of the buyers agent is to find the right or best property in the right or best location at the right time at the best price. If you’re not using your buyer’s agent to achieve that or you’re hiring the wrong agent well, that’s on you. Hire the right agent pay them well and make them do their job. Something that I did, and that I'm trying to do again now when I'm writing the new season, is I'm trying to use—Because there's a dreaminess to this show, I try to use my memory as a guide. I'm like, what do I remember? And then I try to give primacy to the stuff that I remember and that has stuck in my brain all these years with this story. So I’m like, oh I have to do that! And that's a nice way for me to kind of center things. Where if I have to do that, then it means maybe I don't have to do this, and it maybe means I want to combine or collapse different things. I love this idea from Jason Fried "Your only competition is your costs." Keep costs low, keep the team small, make stuff you want to use. You don't need the whole world: “A business is very simple. You got to make more than you spend. If you're making more than you spend, then your competition is your cost. That's what you're really in business against, how much it costs you to stay in business. It's not all the other alternatives that are on the market. You can't control what they're going to put out there, what they're going to price it at, all the things they're going to do. They're going to do what they're going to do. What I can control is how much it costs me to run my business, how much I sell my product for, and as long as I make more than I spend, I get to stay in business.
