But you won’t issue a carve out in our sanctuary city to deport the hondos. Instead, if @SFPD catches them we just cite them and release them back into the community to deal more drugs. Do you realize how counterproductive and stupid this is Bilal? How can you not understand this?

Jail dealers, deport dealers, stay away orders. Jail users, bus tickets back to where they’re from, stay away orders. No more general assistance — SF pays the highest and they know it. Cut Jennifer Friedenbach and COH out — kick her off OCOH committee. Get tough like San Jose.

You have to put criminals in jail. You can't just herd them from one street to the next. Put addicts in jail for a couple of nights, do that regularly, and they will soon leave for more friendly spots.

This week, the SF Sheriff's Office Office took 1,600 pounds of illegal fireworks off the street in San Francisco. We also have new street ambassadors working 6th Street and 16th and Mission. Each week at the Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC), public safety officials and department heads discuss street conditions and public safety updates like these. We will continue to take action and stay coordinated to keep our neighborhoods safe.

Here's what I saw and learned: - The drug market is significantly smaller since last year. - Due to increased SFPD enforcement and action from our DA, the drug market has constrained its hours of operation to midnight to three am. - The dealers themselves are adapting to increased enforcement, and shifting from selling in crowds to instead becoming mobile and doing drop-offs increasingly. - The drug market has in turn shifted into smaller pockets dispersed in Hayes, Mission, upper Tenderloin - The RESET center is also starting to help individuals suffering on our streets with an alternative to jail SFPD, the DA's office, and Mayor's office are all working together to create new strategies now to tackle this changing landscape to the open air drug market.
