My PDP-11/83, PDP-11/44, and VAX 4000-705A doing important work on stuff.

Heating the room. That's important stuff.

😳

“Important work”, such as heating your garage during the winter? One summer working at a DoD contractor my office was excessively air conditioned. Plant Engineering would not do anything. Space heaters were banned. I brought my Sun 3/260 19” rack mount server to work. Fixed it.

Shall we play a game?

This entire room fits on my micro ssd btw

They’ll tell you the result soon 😉

You need a VAX 9000 to complete the set.

If it weren't for the blinking lights, how would we even know these machines were working? :-)

🥰😍 Damn, haven’t seen that in 55 years. Sweet!

Jealous. I nearly had Kansas State Universitie's VAX-11/780 a long long while back. I've since thrown away countless big iron machines. Only have a couple VAX's left. Well done.

Is it going to solve world hunger ?🤣

Secret Squirrle works like the naughty and nice lists.🤫 That said, I did always wonder how @NORADCommand tracked you each year. 😉

Wow! How cool! What work is it doing and how much power does it use?

This is making me feel things.

Could you create some Windows screen savers from the displays?

the computer to screen size ratio is absurd

In Finland, PDP-11 computers were used from the 1970s to the 1990s in coastal artillery for calculating the trajectories of grenades. Radar data was used as input.

fantastic

Can it crunch a SETI@home work unit for funzies?

keep the room warm and cozy

I used to fix those! I loved the 7000s. Can’t believe that blower in it has a like a 1,000,000 hour lifespan. Never swapped one but a coworker said he did on a variant where it was mounted vertically.

My highschool career center had a PDP-11 in 1980 and while many students were messing around on TRS-80's , I was learning Cobol & Fortran on a real computer 🤗

I'm VAX-11 old. I envy you.

Yeah, I’m envious. 😉

There's a certain satisfaction to looking at your computer and knowing that right now it's thinking really hard about something

Lovely!

First impressions matter. Powerful machines should look powerful too.

Memories of days gone by…

Joshua is trying to find the launch codes.

What OSes are you running on them?

Nice! Especially a personal VAX!

I’ve got an OG working VT220 here but the MicroVAX is long gone sadly. Had a 9 track tape drive and cart drive also.
