In a few days time we shall mark Hon. PM Narendra Modi’s birthday as a part of #SevaPakhwada2025 . Wish to recall how, based on my experience, I see a strong leader in PM Modi who is caring and compassionate too. The day of my very first budget speech is one I will never forget, though not for the reasons most might expect. I had barely reached home after the Budget speech when my phone rang. It was the Hon'ble Prime Minister. The first words I heard were filled with genuine worry: “Why didn’t you take care of yourself?” Before I could even gather my thoughts, he had already acted. He sent his personal doctor straight to my home, instructing him to run all the necessary tests and make sure I was absolutely fine. What moved me most was that this concern did not fade with time. Even today, every now and then, he reminds me: “Are you looking after yourself? How are you keeping?” For someone who leads a nation, who juggles responsibilities that touch every corner of the country, to remember and worry about the well-being of his colleagues is something extraordinary. People see Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi ji as a strong, serious, and determined leader, and yes, he is all of that. But I have also seen another side of him, one that is tender, thoughtful, and humane. #MYMODISTORY When I was preparing for my movie Rocketry, I got a personal experience of Modi ji’s extraordinary attentiveness. This was right after Uri had released and become a huge success. Modi ji was visiting Mumbai for an event at the, where a lot of people from the film fraternity had gathered. Everyone was eager to meet him and click pictures. I was there too — but not as myself. I was in full look of the great scientist Nambi Narayan ji, whom I was portraying as the lead role. With a big beard and full makeup, I genuinely doubted whether Modi ji would even recognize me. To my absolute surprise, the moment he saw me, he said, “Madhavan ji, you look like Nambi Narayan. Has the shooting of the film started?” I was stunned. Here was the Prime Minister of India, burdened with the responsibilities of the nation and the world, yet he not only recognized me instantly but also remembered exactly what I was working on, despite my drastically different appearance. That day, for the very first time, I took a selfie with him. Coincidentally, both of us had similar beards at the time. It remains one of my most cherished memories—because it showed me that Narendra Modi ji is not just a leader of vision, but a human being who notices, remembers, and values people in the most personal way. This genuinely hurts to hear... 💔 Modi Ji said “They abused me, and at Jantar Mantar, they even abused my late mother... Yet, I want to forgive them. I neither want to file an FIR against them nor ruin their careers.” At the age of 75, it is difficult to even imagine how painful it must have been to hear such things about himself and his late mother. Dear Gen Z, have disagreements, ask questions, protest... but don’t forget your limits and decency. 🙏 Respect a Prime Minister who, even after being personally insulted, does not want to ruin the future of young people. 🥹❤️ But Modi Ji, I would definitely like to say one thing... If you forgive the insults directed at you and your mother, that shows your generosity. ❤️ But those who have made vulgar and objectionable remarks about Hinduism and our Gods and Goddesses should definitely face appropriate legal action. I thank those who made sure that I wore the colours of the team of my heart and those who managed the situation with availability and sharing in the last few weeks. James Stewart on what makes a great film performance: In a 1972 BBC interview, the legendary actor was asked how he approaches biographical roles like Glenn Miller and Charles Lindbergh. I'm just waiting for something to happen." That, Stewart said, is what creating moments looks like in practice. You can't force it. You set the conditions and wait. He then offered a second piece of evidence for his theory, drawn from his interactions with fans over the years: "People will come up to me and say, 'Boy, I like that picture you did.' Now they won't remember the name of the picture. They won't remember where they saw it. They won't remember who was in it or who directed it. But they said, 'You know, that picture. This goes to show you never know who your real friends are and to never let your guard down. This young boy thought he was out having fun with friends and ended up finding out they aren’t his friends at all. I’ve had plenty of friends throughout the years that I thought was my best friends. The second things went wrong they turned on me. Even other friends who were previously cool with me turned on me because their friend had an issue. This is why I always teach my children that they can only depend on us and each other. Keep your friends close but be wary and question their motives sometimes too. Nobody is ever 100 percent on your side. Sometimes it takes more than others but most people have a breaking point when it comes to loyalty. Have you ever had a friend betray you like this?I think they intended for him to be harmed and that is never okay.
