My reflections on the 2024 election.

What are you doing? Near identical statement as your other Oregon colleague (and MA, and countless others). Clearly, you are all reading off the same talking-points. Disparaging nearly half of your constituencies is NOT a unifying message.

Hey, in case it escaped your notice, you have constituents who don’t agree with you ideologically and who DID vote for Trump. Nothing in this statement makes me believe you care about those people at all. You are as partisan as they come. If you can’t even pretend to be understanding of both sides, you have no right to be a representative in the U.S. Senate.

With only 61% of the vote counted, 780,890 Oregonians voted for Trump and are celebrating this monumental come back, and it has been Trump who has recognized our Republic is stronger when we unite. You are unfit to lead as you deflect rather than reflect on the very weaponization of justice your party used to attack Trump. You had a choice today to speak to all 4 Million Oregonians, but instead you decided to appeal to the little over 1 Million who voted for Harris. Before the country can unite, we must cast aside partisan division and work to policy that improves the lives of ALL Americans. The Hollywood endorsements failed, the plagiarized tax policy failed, and the attempt to buy votes with tax credits failed. When will Democrats accept that the policy or lack there of is failing Oregon? The time has come to make OREGON GREAT AGAIN, we have two years to replace you so don't get to comfortable.

Merkley is one of the worst senators in the US. Uninspiring and bitter. Oregon deserves better. It’s sad that his only appeal for “joy” and happiness is to kill innocent life, redistribute money, grow government power, and label his opposition as un-American. Fuck you, Merkley. Clearly you don’t get it. The USA is moving on to a brighter future, not looking back.

Please resign. You need to retire and rest.
