Just a typical day in the 3D studio with my little assistant… seems like she’s still figuring things out… 🔌💥 Since it’s the New Year, I figured it’s time for a proper re-introduction! ✨ • I’m chacha! As someone who doesn't have the time to learn advanced video editing software, I threw my prompt into Pexo and chatted my way through to the dynamic kinetic typography promo below—complete with bright sky-blue aesthetics, bouncing text on hanging lines, hand-drawn line doodles, and a crisp electro-pop rhythm. This time, I used Pexo. Pexo is an AI video creation tool where you can just chat with it to make videos. Tell it what you want, how to tweak the visuals—plain English works fine. Even someone like me with zero editing experience can jump right in. First, a bit of background. I usually build solutions, not videos. This time, I wanted to properly introduce a sleek brand promotion—featuring fast text flashes, stacked columns, and clean line art—only to realize the real hassle isn't writing the copy, it's the video editing. I don't know After Effects. And I sure don't want to burn my evenings learning timeline keyframing just to drop one clean promo. I tossed the concept into Pexo and told it: Make me a 15-second horizontal text-flash promo for an SEO service, keeping scene transitions under 3 seconds with bounce-and-snap motion. It didn't spit out a video right away. First, it aligned with me. Sky-blue base, cobalt typography, periwinkle panels, and precise pacing. $I’ve never shared the full inside baseball on the inside fastball that broke my jaw April 5, 2008 at Ole Miss, we were facing projected 1st rounder and future Big Leaguer, Lance Lynn Before it became widespread, Lance had success pitching towards the top of the zone with a fastball that appeared to rise He got me out my first at bat on a high fastball that I should have laid off So my 2nd at bat I told myself to see the ball down in the zone My eyes jumped from his release point to the area I was trying to see the ball down to. I never ended up seeing the pitch until .01 before it hit me If you’ve ever gotten hit in the face, you don’t know what happened at first. So it took me about half a second to realize what happened When I did, I fully expected to spit teeth out and when I leaned over to spit and saw that only blood came out, I assumed I was fine Then I heard the Ole Miss head coach yell “it hit his bat,” because the cracking of my jaw sounded like a foul ball off a mental bat I turned around and yelled “shut the fuck up” at their dugout and proceeded on to first base My trainer came up to me and his first words were “oh fuck,” Knowing that was poor bedside manner, and that I was probably very fucked up, I joked “you’re not supposed to say that,” At that point I knew I was coming out of the game but I was so full of adrenaline that it didn’t hurt and wouldn’t begin to hurt for a couple hours Both the pitcher and coach felt so bad after it happened that both came to apologize to me at the end of the inning while I was beside their dugout being tended to by my trainer and their doctor I actually had to walk to the parking lot through the stadium seats and all the fans looked at me in horror as I had a white bloody rag hanging off my face. It was surreal watching their reactions to my blood We drove over to an Oxford medical center that was clearly not the best location for me to be in, so my coach’s wife drive me up to Nashville to get surgery that night We got swept that weekend and I got my jaw wired shut for the first of 6 weeks I stupidly tried to come back and play the following week. My coaches let me as I was medically cleared to hit with a face mask, but the rest of my season I was a different hitter I was hitting .400 at the time of the fracture, 2nd in the SEC, with 2 months left in the season I finished the year hitting .312. Meaning I flipped from one of the best hitters in the conference to one of the worst before and after the incident Despite finishing my Vandy career 7th on their all time hit list, this play is what I hear about the most when I return I’ve been lucky that I haven’t had much issues with my jaw thus far post incident, although I did find out that 2 of the nerves of the impacted teeth are dead, and I will likely need to get one of those teeth extracted at some point When they showed me the X Ray it was a clear break. A scary image that could have been WAY worse if it were 3 inches higher, as I likely would not be able to see out of my left eye (and wouldn’t be as handsome as I am) Anyway, to have interesting ideas you must have interesting experiences and this was certainly one$

Trump supporter… I’ve lived ups and downs and I’ve faced the largest political media storm ever seen for a member of Congress, (excuse me Matt Gaetz )… I’ve made new friends and discovered that old “friends” were fake (Nancy Mace) I proudly hold the record of the most conservative voting member of Congress from New York in modern history 96% according to my freedom score… the ROCK STAR known as Claudia Tenney is a solid second😁❤️ I made history being the first OPENLY gay man elected to Congress from the GOP… (not that I was the only one there) 🫣 I met new people and learned a lot about the unique diversity of my community and how to best represent their needs to the best of my ability. Most importantly I did a lot of growing up in the public eye for the whole country to see…things have not been easy or smooth but, I thank God each day for the experiences I’ve had so that I can grow to be a better person each day forward. 8 things I'm doing to capture the "magic window" of my kid's childhood. For a bit of context: I'm 42 with 4 kids, ages 11 to 2, and run my own content + services business for creators. 1. I work from home Even though I own my business, I used to have an office too. I miss it sometimes (ok at least once a week), but being closer to the kids is a bigger benefit. I get to take breaks to hit golf balls at the park, fish, and play. 2. My wife stays at home Prolly worth a whole post, but this was a shared decision that was led by my wife. We wanted to have one of us available for the kids as much as they needed. She's a nurse, which definitely comes in handy 🤕 Also means she can start work again when she wants. 3. We homeschool I was homeschooled until 9th grade, so this wasn't a hard sell for me. My wife leads the charge here, but I help the older boys with math and other topics. One cool part is they have a desk in my office room too, so we can "cowork" together. 4. I coach their teams If my kid is playing a sport, I'll be coaching. We get to be physical with each other, learn teamwork, he gets to be coached by other dads and see my coach other kids. I also started leading jiu-jitsu classes in the neighborhood for kids and my 11 yr old helps me teach. 5. We exercise together I stopped going to CrossFit a couple years ago and built a simple garage gym so my kids could work out with me. Bodyweight exercises and GORUCK sandbags are the majority of our shared movements, but they also get to see their Dad being active and practicing good habits. 6. We're active in Church Another one that deserves an entire post, but similar to coaching their teams, our kids get to be around like-minded families, mentored by adults who care about them, and build a shared faith that binds us together. We also read the Bible and pray together each day. 7. I create content May not have expected this one, but when I started my YouTube channel a primary motivator was for my kids to be able to watch the videos when they got older. To see what Dad was thinking about, how I solved problems, set goals, etc. In many ways my content is a snapshot of our lives that has value beyond audience or monetization. 8. Leveraging AI AI has made me a lot more productive—I'd say 2-3x what I was capable of just a year ago. But a few months ago I realized I was just putting those "saved" hours right back into more work. If I was twice as productive, why wasn't I working half as many hours? I'm not quite working part-time, but I have cut back and used my new efficiencies for more time with the family instead of working at the same pace. ---- If you're reading this partly because this post is blowing up— hope it gives a little more context to how I'm structuring my life and work to be as intentional as I can with my family while being the provider they need too. It's a constant balancing act, more like walking a tightrope than balancing the scales of family and work. But I'm incredibly blessed to have such a great family and good work to do with cool people. The answer is an SDR that you already own! Let me introduce you to the BirriaSDR! A dual-band 40 Msps SDR (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) based on a mass-produced USB 3.0 Wi-Fi dongle that can export RAW I/Q for under 30 USD. Apologies, I finished the birria long ago... but only got around to writing this now. The idea was to use a chip as cheap as the RTL-SDR (<50 USD), with transport already built in (USB 3.0). Not something that costs four times as much or needs to be paired with an FPGA to export any real amount of data. Now, think for a bit: what kind of mass-produced device fits the bill? Yes, every single USB Wi-Fi dongle!!! It has been clear for a while that a lot of models have internal firmware that can be modified to export RAW I/Q data via their DMA engines. Most units can even run ASM payloads to modify the data. Historically, it would be a pain in the ass to reverse engineer the internal mechanisms of every single chipset in each Wi-Fi dongle (there are many!). But with AI, I can do that from my phone while eating birria at my local restaurant. Before leaving, I connected my MT7921A Wi-Fi dongle to my Raspberry Pi 5 and gave GPT-6 Astra the goal of getting it to export RAW I/Q over USB. Don’t be fooled: this wasn’t a “turn this into an SDR, make no mistakes” prompt. I had to give it leads on how to do this properly. By the way, this is the same chipset that the notorious ALFA AWUS036AXML has. At first, it created a burst exporter that could only record a short snapshot of RAW I/Q. This is an ancient feature that has been known for a long time and is even present in DD-WRT, but it was useless for our purposes. Then, after a couple of hours, it improved it to use the internal packetizing engine to create a stream of four consecutive complex samples per 16-byte block, with I and Q each occupying a 16-bit slot and retaining 14-bit precision. These blocks can be moved out of the device via the DMA engine. The RF front end can tune to both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The tested 40 MHz, 80 MHz, and 160 MHz sample rates work, but with a very prominent filter shape, as expected. The end result was a very capable SDR with dual-band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz reception, 14-bit I/Q resolution, and a nominal complex sample rate of 40 MSps over USB 3.0. Higher sample rates and wider bandwidths are still experimental. That said, I think this is a good proof of concept that needs to be further refined. Using a Wi-Fi dongle as an SDR solves the data interconnect problem and makes it easy to connect an external antenna with RP-SMA. I expect it won't take long for manufacturers to start mass-producing devices with the architecture I'm proposing, with a proper USB port, a tunable RF front end, and heat dissipation. I also want to make the point that you don't need to write a whole new SDR client every time you reverse engineer a Wi-Fi device to be used as an SDR. All you need is a small library that exports the I/Q. To prove this, the whole driver is a single Python script inside a CyberEther flowgraph file. Want to try it? VEGAS. DESERT. AURORA.. 🤯🤯 Crazy for those to be in the same sentence, let alone the same timelapse! I knew that the chance of catching Aurora was high on Friday so I packed up well before dark and headed just outside of Valley of Fire to a spot I tried to get to as of last april 2023’s big night of Aurora and didn’t. Friday night blew that OUT OF THE WATER!! I spent over 6 hrs out there shooting time lapses and photos on 2 different cameras. Kind of makes me wish I had 3 with me since last night’s Aurora was a dud… thanks to my friend Sarah for coming out to hang with me that night even though I had to drag you kicking and screaming! Lol I know that if you’re in higher latitudes, you need shorter shutter speeds to get good Aurora, but here are the settings I used.. VEGAS. DESERT. AURORA.. 🤯🤯 Crazy for those to be in the same sentence, let alone the same timelapse! I knew that the chance of catching Aurora was high on Friday so I packed up well before dark and headed just outside of Valley of Fire to a spot I tried to get to as of last april 2023’s big night of Aurora and didn’t. Friday night blew that OUT OF THE WATER!! I spent over 6 hrs out there shooting time lapses and photos on 2 different cameras. Kind of makes me wish I had 3 with me since last night’s Aurora was a dud… thanks to my friend Sarah for coming out to hang with me that night even though I had to drag you kicking and screaming! Lol I know that if you’re in higher latitudes, you need shorter shutter speeds to get good Aurora, but here are the settings I used..
