I think the show itself is better. I think there's something in this that allows me to like stay in my life while I'm doing it and therefore I think allows me to take care of myself better, which I think makes me better at doing the thing. And you know, people in my band have like families now and kids and some aspect of that, too. It struck me that I wanted to do something a little more ego-less. Individuality is what appeals to me more [than celebrity]. I’m looking to carve out my own island and I’m less concerned with how immediately big I can make that island…I’m focusing on the artistry.”
