Last fall, the Trump administration issued an Orwellian directive called NSPM-7 which would allow them to investigate anyone they deem to be "anti-Christian," "anti-capitalist," or "anti-American," for domestic terrorism. Those are vague and undefined terms, and this directive is a clear effort to silence criticism and dissent by infringing on Americans' freedom of speech. Today, I offered an amendment to the Commerce, Justice, & Science funding bill to prohibit the Trump administration from targeting any person or organization solely for exercising their constitutionally-protected First Amendment rights. Every Republican in Committee voted no.

Police step in, but to prevent the only attendee trying to prevent the angry man from yelling the anti semitic hate speech who is now yelling allahu akbar. Police watch listening as the Man repeats his hateful anti semitic speech before affirming he has freedom of speech to do so, then confirm he is free to leave into the rest of the crowd who listened to his speech. One of the frameworks that I like, which I think I heard originally from Shaan Puri, is the A-B-Z framework. A is an honest assessment of your current situation. Try to look at your current reality with clear eyes. Z is where you ultimately want to end up, and B is your next step. All you need to know is A, B, and Z. You don’t need to know steps C through Y, but so often people will convince themselves, “Well, I don’t know what steps C through Y are.” Or even if they realize they’re not going to plan it all out, they’re like, “Yeah, but I kind of want to know what C, D, and E are.” They want to be able to see a little bit further into the future, but you have to become comfortable with some level of uncertainty."
