Well, to be theologically and biblically accurate … all Christians have been in the “last days” since Jesus rose. But the apostles weren’t giving deadlines of when Jesus was returning based on current events.

As a dispensationalists, I agree that the hyper date setters deserve a round of mocking. But I certainly wouldn’t want to be found guilty of mocking those who humbly watch for Jesus’s return, and earnestly pray “Thy Kingdom Come!”

I'm a dispensationalist, and I have to say, yeah, ouch. Too many "sure" predictions that were based on mere speculation. No man knows the day or the hour. Just live every day in expectancy. And yes, I believe we're closer than ever! 😅

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4

It's true that some preachers wrongly try to predict days and times, but that doesn't take away the imperative of what Jesus commanded us, which was to watch for the signs of His coming and be ready. We can read about those signs in Matthew 24 and Luke 21

I didn't know they could take such clear video in the 4th century. But yes, each generation men like Jack Van Impe (he was the one in my younger, early saved days) who had a penchant for setting, not so much dates, but time frames. In the '80's it was always "before the year 2000." But none of these make scripture any less true that the Rapture will come. The Church will rise and meet Jesus in the clouds. At the Second Coming, Jesus will set his foot on the Mount. Two events. Not the same.

This is so good (yes, it is AI)! Every generation has looked at the signs in the world and convinced itself that it would be the final generation before Christ returns. At some point, one generation will get it right. But until then, remember this: the wars and rumors of wars, the signs in the heavens and in the Earth below, the trials and tribulations around the world... they are all meant to remind us that Jesus IS returning, not when! Repent therefore, and flee to Christ while the days remain.
