My thoughts on Marathon after 12hrs!

Brother the maps say “low threat” and “medium” the real high threat maps and Stella maps are coming. They don’t want to overwhelm people also purple shield makes you a tank

Did you actually watch my video? I spoke about ttk and how it will improve when people have better shields. I also played mostly dire marsh solo and in squads and still never ran into many squads. How many more maps are they dropping with launch?

There’s 3 more maps one is a designated “end game” map and the other 2 are high threat with strong AI and more player spawns

Those are on launch? It’s my understanding we get one more map on launch and 2 more coming at a later date

When you do run into PvP you blink and it's over then ten more boring minutes

Yeah I think that could be because everyone is under leveled and lacking decent gear to have a sustained fight

Nobody knows where they are going or what they are doing, once people knows the maps it’s going to be insanely sweaty and PvP everywhere

Yeah they will need to go F2P, it’s just not gonna grab people like Arc did. And it said it was going to be a big PVP game but the PVP is very spread out. Turn it up!

Yeah in solo you can hear footsteps because it’s just you paying close attention to everything because your life is more precious

As a viewer, these colors, menus, fonts, screen effects, and glitches are all extremely straining. I find watching just gameplay tiring. I dunno if I could stand to actually play it

I played marathon for about an hour. I'll doubt i'll play more. Arc raiders got me from it's initial gameplay. My character looks very similar to me. When I fall too far and get the ankle wobbles. When im climbing and I struggle cuz I got something in onehand. It's immersion 4me

Arc raiders does a great job with immersion

Agree with basically everything you say. It’s nice to actually see a genuine review. One thing that baffles me is people complaining that they don’t know what’s going on. It’s a new game, you’re not going to know everything straight away. Then they complain about tooltips too…

Most content creators just make negative videos because they get more likes and don’t want to go against the grain

2-3 teams is quite a lot considering perimeter and dire marsh are both set at 6 teams of 3 (in trios) + any additional rook players that queue in. i feel like fighting half of the lobby is more than fine.

What gunplay exactly? There is no real recoil, the weapons are all kinda flat, just point and shoot. No real skill expression if you ask me.

Menus cuz it’s an extraction shooter but yea is fun game

I’m really tuning into a lot of players and I feel my experience has been different. I think the game is at its peak when you just scrapped by some UESC CMDR or something then turn around and a player is right there shooting you. But I’ve played a lot of solo

I really liked solo

It’s been better than any random crew fill. No one works together I rather play crew fill with friends or just run solos

I like it better than Arc. It's more fighting-forward and better balance in that regard IMO. 1st person is also far superior.

You’re right about to ttk bc of shields, also PvP is there is primarily at extraction points obviously. Cod kids are to dumb to realize that. Side note. Game does feel vanilla

UI is a problem for most I hear. For me as well. It’s so bad and doesn’t match the rest of the game at all

Well, 2-3 teams is the entire lobby. Theres only 12 people a lobby. So yes. You ran out of people to kill.

The game is being marketed as a PvP focused extraction game. I would like a little bit more. I don’t think that’s asking too much

I’m not saying there couldn’t be more. Just that the reason you arnt finding more is because you’ve killed everyone. Hit the late game events to stack up that super good loot. I think maybe one more team would be pretty solid.

Yeah one maybe two more teams on the bigger maps

Great review. Captured pretty much what I gathered from the short time I played. Better than Arc Raiders for me.

Way too many menus. The UI sucks. I fought way more bots and hardly saw players for PvP. Gave it about 5 hours and hung it up and went back to AR
