My thoughts on the #Dbacks potentially claiming Eugenio Suarez: While I do think he would be perfect for veteran leadership and providing vibes for the club, his statistics make him incredibly difficult to use in any real capacity. He whiffs a ton & the batted ball has crumbled

You could always go for Sergio Alcantara

I think the reason why he fell off was because he left AZ. 🫶🏼 maybe we give him a chance?

He’d be 3rd on the team in home runs, in a lineup starved for offense that would go a long way as a DH

Counter point: It would heal my heart

Can he be worse than Kepler?

In a way, yes Kepler can put the ball in play against RHP. Geno strikes out against RHP 40%+ of the time.

Stfu on your stats bullshit he’s a seasoned veteran that knows pressure. He would show up and produce. He likes pressure and will show up under pressure. Throw your computer out the window of your apartment.

Statistically/analytically you might be right. But leadership and vibes are exactly what they need right now. Not to mention his presence alone would help reign in number 4 a little bit… just saying

And where would he even play other than just DH

Sometimes it’s about fit and he was a good fit here .. he’s still better than half the hitters in our lineup maybe not the avg but power numbers def an upgrade on a down year for him

Counter-point: .866 OPS and 9 HR in 114 PA vs RHP since July 1. Nootbar is batting .163 with a .558 OPS since joining the team. DH Geno>>>>

They have no need for him, much less a roster spot

I haven’t seen him smile all season in Cincy. He’s had a tough go - coming back to AZ would be a breath of fresh air for him and a return to a place where he’s had great success. Both of those could be mental boosts that motivate him and improve his game

All that aside, I think he’d be rejuvenated to be back in PHX and reunited with a crowd who loves him. I could see him hitting 7-8 big HRs for us down the stretch.
