Ashlyn Sullivan’s early impressions of Eagles practice: “I am pleasantly surprised how organized [the offense] is. This is the best I've seen the Eagles offense be in training camp the past three years I’ve covered this team…The biggest difference is the run game.”

Five observations from Day 1 of #Bengals training camp: 1. Kudos to Tee Higgins for signing the franchise tag and reporting for the start of camp. “Me personally, I didn’t want drama,” Tee said. “I want to be here with my guys. I love this team and I grew a love for this city.”

‘Strong women make strong women!’ Levelling up ⬆ my core training game at my 2nd session of the upgraded core work and I feel I am actually getting the HANG of it🤪💪 Practice Practice Practice till you master it! The goal is to gradually be able to take my legs higher and control the movement on the way down. A snippet of the Hanging Leg Raise & Knee Tuck combo of which I executed 3 sets and reps till failure. *Pro Tip:* Extend the legs fully every time you come down. That full stretch in the abdominals at the bottom is the key. Great core workout! Thank you, yashmeen chauhan, for always motivating me. Love u♥️ #MondayMotivation #SwasthRahoMastRaho #SimpleSoulful #FitIndia #fitness #coreworkouts #FitIndiaMovement #fitnesschallenge

Zach Lowe on the Heat 7 game winning streak: “Something is happening with the Heat. There’s something here that’s a little bit more that’s interesting than a ‘oh another late run by a meh team.’ I mentioned Bam and Ware numbers being better and Tyler Herro has looked good but there’s something more happening… All the injured have helped them stall out the Herro and Powell minutes. Powell made the All Star team this year, Herro made It last year. It’s hard to tell somebody of that status to come off the bench… I don’t think they have a high enough ceiling to beat the top 4 teams in a series but they’re now in the question of 5th best team in the East” (Via Zach Lowe)

Bill Simmons and Zach Lowe message to Heat fans after doing nothing at the deadline and missing out on Giannis: Zach: If I were a Miami fan I’d be a little worried that we had this window where MIN, GS, traded out of it. The Giannis teams started falling away. We were maybe the last real team standing. Yeah we can trade 4 1st in the offseason but now it’s going to be more open Bill: This is what they do. Here’s 40 cents on the dollar for your best guy, any interest? You don’t want this? We’re offering you Tyler Herro and Ware who doesn’t even play! Zach: The Ware thing with the up and down minutes and trying to play him and Bam to now not trying It and sometimes Ware doesn’t play the 2nd half has not helped (Via Bill Simmons)

INSPIRATIONAL: #Commanders safety Tyler Owens’ journey to the #NFL is absolutely remarkable. Owens was an ELITE prospect coming out of Plano East High School in Texas. He was a four-star recruit, an All-American, ran a ridiculous 10.35-second 100-meter dash and was ranked as one of the top safeties in the country. Tyler committed to TEXAS with massive expectations. But things never really took off. Owens spent THREE YEARS with the Longhorns and appeared in 27 games, but started just ONCE and recorded only 12 tackles. So he transferred to Texas Tech looking for another opportunity. Owens finally started to show what he could do, finishing his final college season with a career-high 37 tackles. Then came the NFL Combine… Owens recorded a 41-INCH VERTICAL and an unbelievable 12-FOOT-2 BROAD JUMP — just ONE INCH shy of the unofficial world record. And despite being one of the most freakishly athletic players at the entire Combine… HE WENT UNDRAFTED. Washington gave Owens an opportunity as an undrafted free agent in 2024. He entered camp fighting simply to make the team — and WON a spot on the Commanders’ initial 53-man roster. From highly touted high school recruit, to barely playing at Texas, to transferring, going UNDRAFTED and having to fight for an NFL roster spot. Now Tyler Owens has become one of the most feared special-teams players in football. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM. 🙏

The trip to Dallas has been full of emotions After two games in the heat yesterday, Jacob came out of the dugout sobbing. My heart is breaking for my kids. During today’s game, I asked the Lord to give Jacob strength, to let him compartmentalize the game and his grief. He and his nana were as thick as thieves and I wondered if telling him was the right move. He struggled batting today. His last at bat we needed one more run to end the game. He stepped up, swung, hit the ball almost effortlessly 350 feet over the wall. And as any good mother would do, I walked through the thorns and brush to find that ball. And sitting in the middle of the sidewalk, there it was 💜💜💜 Blessings in the pain, that’s the Lord 💜

EA Sports CFB25 released their Sights & Sounds Deep Dive today and I am DISAPPOINTED! The main theme they use in the video is "Every Team Is Somebody's Favorite" and if you are going to make that claim, then I will hold you to it. My favorite school is the one I attended, Baylor University, and it has been clipped and used in both CFB25 videos with a GLARING mistake to anyone who went to Baylor. The Baylor Line is missing! Every year the freshman class gets a Baylor Line Jersey at the Freshman Line Camp before school starts. They spend a week learning about the school, each other, and our traditions which all leads up to getting a gold Line Jersey with your graduation year as the number and your last name or nickname on the back. Once football starts the Freshman show up hours early in their jersey to each home game and wait in the brutal Texas heat to be in the Baylor Line. Right before the game starts the freshman class runs onto the field in a frenzie to get to the other side of the field and form the tunnel that the team will run through. This is a tradition that is so crazy and dangerous that the NCAA outlawed it and grandfathered Baylor in as the one school allowed. The last home game of the season the graduating senior class gets to join the Freshman and run the line one last time in a double sized mosh pit to send them off how they entered. This tradition is near and dear to Baylor student's hearts. I remember my first time running with my roommate and best friend who both were in my wedding years later. I couldn't wait to watch my brother run his first line when he got here, then getting to run my last line at the last home game as a senior with my brother who was a freshman. I still take a video at every home opener to compare the sizes of the freshman classes, and because it gives me nostalgia and is the thing that makes me really feel that college football has started. So, with all of that, I am calling on College Football 27 and EA SPORTS to please add the biggest Baylor football tradition to the game. My favorite game of all time is NCAA 14, and I am literally taking off work July 19th (my birthday as well if that helps) to play this game, I just want it to be perfect. 🙏 #SicEm #Baylor #CFB25

Here are my highlights from my Sophomore Season for high school, as well as 7v7 (I started for the number 1 ranked 15u 7v7 team in the Nation. We won both Shock Dr and DR7 Nationals) and the Florida State Seminoles Camp, Florida Gators Camp and Florida Atlantic Camp. I started in the Slot for my high school team as well as returned kicks and punts. I begin lifting next week, as well as training with my track coach and my WR coach, then 7v7 begins in January. Operating a Sting interceptor drone, I downed 3 enemy aerial targets in one day: a Shahed and two Gerberas. Three launches — three kills. This is part of a broader idea: involving non-mobilized citizens in air defense. I went through the full training myself — from FPV schools (Kruk, Wild Hornets) to field practice with top pilots. We already have the technology. What we need are more pilots. Ready to share experience — up to 60% of the skills can be learned at home. Recruitment is open. Also submitted my first bill to improve air defense at the legislative level. Special thanks to the Wild Hornets team — now the #1 system in interceptions (600+ hits/month). More to come. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦

Most competitive 49ers' training camp practice so far ended Block 3 — fittingly, it coincided with Kyle Shanahan's return to the podium. Some highlights: 🏈Upton Stout will be a HUGE part of this defense. Pick 6 on a Brock Purdy-to-Demarcus Robinson try today. Raheem Morris said Stout is SF's starting "Star" — that was Jalen Ramsey's versatile position in LA's defense 🏈OL/DL 1-on-1s didn't go well for Connor Colby, who lost multiple reps (rookie James Thompson got him twice). Robert Jones continued as top LG. Brett Toth (concussion) watched from sideline 🏈Romello Height had a fun multi-rep battle with Colton McKivitz. Slipped lost Round 1, then jumped offsides twice, then ripped out a wicked inside spin move — speedy potential on full display. Height says he picks Trent Williams' brain after practice (smart move, per sources) 🏈De'Zhaun Stribling was back in team drills. Purdy's first pass: Crisp out-breaker to the rookie, who continues to look polished and explosive. Stribling did log a catch vs Stout on another out later on 🏈Biggest offensive play came when 49ers spread defense out with Stribling and Co. to set up Purdy-to-McCaffrey on a 25-yard post 🏈The logjam of young DTs — Sebastian Valdez, Bryson Eason, and James Thompson — will be interesting to sort out. All are flashing. Alfred Collins had a big pass bat-down today, one of his specialties 🏈Jordan Watkins has had some struggles over the middle and today he dropped an intermediate crosser in traffic from Adrian Martinez 🏈Nice adjustment from Junior Bergen on a similar route but with Kurtis Rourke at QB. Throw was a touch late and behind Bergen but the gritty young WR made it work. His good camp continues 🏈Best practice so far for vet CB Nate Hobbs, who notched 3 pass breakups, including one vs Bergen. Hobbs has been most effective inside during his career but he also knocked two boundary passes away today 🏈Soaring TD catch in end-of-game red-zone work from 6-2 rookie WR Wesley Grimes on a throw from Mac Jones 🏈Purdy found Luke Farrell for a last-second TD during his first turn of this hurry-up work. Farrell's pass-game usage has gone way up this camp; looks like a trusted target for 13 now 🏈Deommodore Lenoir INT of Purdy came on the first team's second red-zone try. Fourth down as time expired, so Purdy had to force a throw since no one was open and the "game" was on the line. Lenoir undercut Robinson 🏈Big run stop from rookie DT Gracen Halton, who's one of the most vocal players on the field. When Halton makes a play, you typically hear it from the sideline 🏈Fred Warner notched a lunging PBU, showcasing that rare 6-4 LB height, and also scooped up a possible early fumble for a return TD 🏈49ers will be off Sunday before returning for their fourth 2-practice block on Monday, the second of which will be a joint session with Robert Saleh and the Titans — so the work is ramping up at just the right time

Mike Tomlin’s most underrated moment? I’m not sure if a lot of people remember this but when Mike Tomlin was a rookie head coach he was so obsessed with practice that he nearly doubled the amount of two-a-days that the Steelers usually had. Ed Bouchette even did an entire piece on this at the time. It was also one of the longest training camps the Steelers had. But after the team faded at the end of 2007, Tomlin blamed himself when most head coaches would likely stay the course and force his players to get used the rigorous schedule. For any fans of Steelers history, staying such a course would likely bring to mind Bill Austin. But Tomlin did what Austin didn’t. He changed his practice schedule. Changed how he approached training camp. Changed what he personally focused on during practice. If you recall, he focused an unnatural length of time on special teams during his 2007 practices but, in 2008, he learned to trust his ST coach. He reduced the amount of two-a-days and went from one of the team’s longest training camps in 2007 to one of their shortest in 2008. And the Steelers won the Super Bowl that year. ⬇️ They touched on this in America’s Game.

“Jacob, Bronny would cook you 1v1” — Bron fanboys Bronny is 2 inches taller than me and 20 lbs heavier. He can’t shoot- just like his dad. I would guard him like the Spurs guarded Bron: give him two feet of space and dare him to shoot. Best out of three, I am coming out on top, I PROMISE you that 👊 Revenge season is officially complete ✅ We got 2nd place last season (albeit I was out of the country and left my guys hanging in the final; we lost by 20). So this season I told the guys we will win it all and NOBODY will even get a win on us. Promise complete: 12-0 and we won the chip. The team we beat was actually up 9 in the first half. They finally played me man to man and I had to hit contested 3s. I shot poorly from downtown- I think I went 2/5 but I just kept attacking and good things happened. This was an ugly game that ended 46-41. Best feeling is when the other team puts their heads down and you know the game is over. My pick and roll and free throws iced the game. I had the game-high 19 points 🤝

#Illini Tyler Underwood calls NBA teams and studies its offenses. Illinois has aspects of the professional game for its team Brad Underwood, "He is way smarter than I am... He talks to those people constantly." Tyler said Illinois runs concepts similar to the Boston Celtics and the Oklahoma City Thunder -- two top NBA teams. Tyler has slowed the offensive tempo down this season, to help the players find best 1 v. 1 matchups. The Illini still want points in the paint, but the Underwood's have transitioned away from centers like Kofi Cockburn doing it. They have guards -- Boswell, Wagler -- who can attack the rim while the Ivisics and Mirkovic can space the floor from the three point line. Illinois currently has the No. 1 offense in America, per KenPom, scoring over 130 points per possessions adjusted. Washington up next on Thursday

1 matchups. Hassan Whiteside went from training at the YMCA to signing a $98,000,000 deal with the Miami Heat “I was going to the YMCA to stay in shape. I'm over there lifting, running, playing pickup on the side. That was my training facility. The YMCA was my training facility” “I had a workout with the Grizzlies. I was in training camp with them, and I think me and Earl Clark were two of the last guys to get let go. And I remember going to Miami to work out, and Pat Riley personally came out on the court and worked me out. Hardest workout of my life” “I left the workout and went down to the G League. The Grizzlies' G League team sent me down there. I had a really good game. I think I had like 30 and 20 or something. My agent called me playing ‘Welcome to Miami.’ He was like, Miami wants to sign you to a four-year, non-guaranteed deal” “I ended up signing a one year, and then I signed a two year non-guaranteed deal. A lot of people don't know I wasn’t even on a guaranteed contract for a lot of the time I was with the Heat”

Asked Ron Harper how much he felt like taking the training camp deal in Boston was a gamble, and when he realized it was rewarding: “It was a little bit of a gamble. But even last year, when I got waived off of the Exhibit-10 and I was in the gym, it was never any hard feelings. I felt like I learned a lot that training camp, being around a team that had just won a championship, those experiences, it's kind of a match, you kind of see how those guys grind, see how they make the game. You see how they work out. You see how they approach the day to day. It's just something I try to take with me throughout my journey.” “The whole year has been rewarding. I had a great had a great stay of Maine when I was there, won Player of the Month, me and my teammates were able to compete in the showcase tournament in Orlando. That was a great experience. Shout out to the coaches down there and to my teammates. Shoutout Hayden Gray for signing that deal with Utah. But just the whole year has been rewarding. The most rewarding moment was probably when I started the first game. That's something that I dreamed of for a while, thinking about where I came from and how the year was looking. I definitely didn't think this would be the year where I start again.”
