"I've got a lot of respect for our parents and grandparents, Matt. They had real grit — no self-pity, just survival. They did whatever it took to get ahead. Meanwhile, half our generation folds the second life gets hard, then blames everyone else for their problems.

💯💯"My mum always to me, 'You don't know what it's like to go hungry, cause we can't afford to eat. We made sure we ate everything on our plates — whether we liked it or not, whether there was too much or not.' They grew up in tough times, and that mindset stuck with them."

I'm not claiming to be on their level — my parents are tougher than I'll ever be — but at least I know the difference."

I loved tunafish sandwiches as a child. One day I was invited to stay for lunch at my friend's house and her mom made tunafish sandwiches. I eagerly bit into it and to my shock and horror, she used miracle whip instead of mayonnaise. I couldn't finish it.

Same type scenario at a friend's house his mom made some stew I'm thinking I like stew and vegetables and beef nope it was dear stew with liver and heart and deer meat chunks.. I had eaten deer meat before and Elk I liked it but not liver or heart I too ate it .. to be nice
