We used to have a motto in the Army. KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. The harder and more complex a plan is, the more likely it is to fail. Every mission statement had a task and purpose. Basically say what we were doing, but more importantly why. That way if the task broke down, they guys could accomplish the why another way.
