Well I can tell u he’s trying to throw with anticipation. He wants his receiver to break hard across the safeties face but the receiver doesn’t make a good break. Purdy makes this exact Throw with this same look multiple times a game.

Young has been terrible, no doubt, but look at his receiver- he turns on his route and settles in behind the defender, where he pauses before moving forward. If he has a clean break, he probably catches that ball in front of the second defender.

Young has been terrible but I can get why he threw this.

He thought his WR was coming across and had his man beat so threw to the space but misjudged the depth of the safety who made a great play driving on the ball. Hope that helps.
