From the teams I came from, it's more of a strict structure, so you have to follow protocols. But here, I'm just more confident in the decisions I make because I know they trust me and I trust them if I make a mistake. And I guess honestly, I learned a lot from all of them. Their mechanics are insane. So I learned how they peek and everything, and I also implemented it."

TiK ToK was the first single that I put into this world that had my voice AND my name credited!!!! I remember making it fun and happy because that’s how I felt and wanted others to feel. What I’m so proud of is that’s how this song STILL makes me feel, through it all, and those are emotions I want all of us to connect to. 15 (!!!!!!) years later, I see this song as a snapshot into the way I saw the world at the time. That girl was naive and wild and playful. This song eternalizes a side of myself that I love very much, and now see I have to protect fiercely. The world has changed so much and so have I. I absolutely love the new lyric change. (Shout out to RMJ) Yes it is permanent. I will re-record it when I have legal rights to! Now, my first baby stands for so much. Like I said, feminists are great at tweeting. Put them in a live debate and ask them to actually defend their arguments, and suddenly the confidence disappears. A lot of them argue from emotion rather than research. Instead of asking why something happens, what caused it, or what the evidence actually shows, they jump straight to assumptions, assign blame, and play the victim. $This house literally looks like a shack and the owners originally listed it for $19 million dollars, yes million, later on they dropped it to $18 mil, would you spend $18 mil for this? When you think of a $18 million dollar home for most people this isn’t what they envision. Even if it is in Aspen Colorado, are you dropping that kind of coin on this? When I visited California, in the San Francisco area I was greeted by these historic looking houses, did they blow me away? No not at all but they were nice, many of them weren’t too modern though but I guess some people would say it adds to the charm. These houses were being listed for millions of dollars and I get it, California property is considered prime real estate in many of their neighborhoods but for me it’s not justifiable. In my mind I know what the house has to look like and have for me to consider it and a house like that isn’t it. I’m looking for a forever home in a few years so I’m keeping my eyes open but for now it amazes me that people even consider dropping that kind of money for a home that’s not even worth a fraction of what they are asking for them. Back to this house in Aspen, what would you expect to realistically pay for something like this? I saw $150k tops, what’s your guess?$

Winning isn’t all that and neither is losing. It’s just something that happens. It’s the outcome. What really matters is the effort you put in and the journey you go through. I would say: Take a break if you’ve been stuck in something for too long. That’s actually why I stepped away for a while. I literally retired, and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. Through that retirement, I realized that I’m a bit of a creative person. I have ideas, my own sense of fashion, and I can be a little stubborn about it. So I came back to share all of my art. I love choreography and moving to music. I love to dance, and I do it on my own terms, no one tells me what to do. Even now, I still take breaks. And I think that’s the best way to do it. — Alysa Liu.
