I believe this is someone who was faking it for content, but he found a lot of disgusting restaurants in the process which is why this footage is gold. Do not eat food made by nons. Just don't. Hygiene is also cultural, and I don't particularly agree that it should be but it is clear that it differs from culture to culture. We are Americans, we have standards, and yes we should be as snobby about it as it sounds. Why must an American eat floor chicken if they are paying at an inspected restaurant?

My step dad owns a BBQ business that I help run in the winter. We are adamant about gloves between meat types, or needing to wash hands etc. The amount of hate we got from other vendors and restaurants telling us we are stupid and don't need to follow glove protocol is incredible. Like 85% of the food industry outside of fast food is convinced you don't need gloves. Also tend to be the same people who charge you 4% for using a debit card (also federally illegal but everybody does it)

Glove rules are retarded, hand washing is way more effective if it's actually done.

I work in pest control, this is NORMAL for the bulk of Chinese and South East Asian places. They really only care about the bottom line and up keep of the restaurants backhouse is often neglected. Also, the keeping of foods in various conditions, yep 100%. I've seen chicken thawing for prep on the outside of a restaurant literally in an alley strewn with dumpsters and garbage cans. I've brought up holes or gaps in their buildings that let in rodents. Some patch it up, some use layers of duct tape. If the Chinese people running the place barely speak English expect the backhouse staff to speak none at all. The conditions they come from are just about the same or lower. Health and cleanliness isn't a major priority for them.
