They run mini-hospitals in the name of clinics. If you go to Dr. Wanyoike’s clinic, it is a hospital that does procedures that the Nairobi Hospital does. Martin Wanyoike is already conflicted, and as a result of this, they now want to have an overriding charge over the board. There exists a resolution by the board to inspect into possible conflicts of interest by senior consultants, these two (Martin and David) included. One of these two senior consultants between January and March has been paid 40 million shillings. The patron of this hospital has traditionally been the president #CitizenExplainer

I have received this video from one union leader of Nairobi County health workers who I have called and talked with for more than 10 minutes after I posted my previous post here. He is wondering why the Senator of Nairobi county is quiet when healthcare workers have been on strike for more than 2 months. Politics aside, this is a serious matter. As a leader, oversight is not limited to my constituency alone. We must ensure that the Senator elected to serve Nairobi County is effectively carrying out his constitutional mandate on behalf of the over 7 million city residents - including my people from Mumias East who live and work in Nairobi. The impact of this prolonged strike on patients and families has been devastating. At a time when leadership and solutions are urgently needed, we cannot afford distractions or rhetoric. Service delivery, especially in healthcare, must come first. Alafu mtu anakimbia kila mahali akisema analinda inchi na Nairobi imemshinda. Kabla urushe mawe watch that video and visit any county hospital now !

This man groping a woman forcefully in public is the Speaker, Nairobi County. The lady is an official in the County Assembly. His action amounts to sexual harassment offense in law, and contravenes provisions of Leadership & Integrity Act. He is not fit to be in office & must be forced to resign. County Assembly members are lawmakers & should not allow an uncouth person like him to lead the Assembly. ODPP should order an investigation too for criminal charges. A capital city is one thing that either brings pride or shame to a people. This is in the heart of Harare, and it shows the economic degradation of our country. I do not know how my fellow Zimbabweans feel watching sadza being cooked in the middle of the capital city like this, at a place where real and structured economic life used to be vibrant and thriving. This is what one of the once beautiful and industrialised African capital cities has been reduced to. And this is happening barely a kilometre from the president’s office and less than 500 metres from the mayor’s office. A capital city should reflect order, productivity, and dignity. Instead, what we are witnessing is the visible collapse of urban management and the slow decay of a city that once stood as a symbol of possibility all because of failed economic policies. This should bring shame to every right thinking Zimbabwean, regardless of political persuasion. This man, and many like him, are victims of a failed system. A society that cannot create opportunities for its people pushes them into this kind of undignified survival mode. What we are witnessing in this video is not individual failure, but the real human cost of economic collapse and broken governance.

Sakaja should be in jail not in office, 1) there’s no storm water drainage system (not even a roadmap has been developed), 2) I haven’t seen any active flood management or even preparation for it by the county of Nairobi. A working system would have already mapped out flood prone sections and closed them off.

Today, in a continued effort to restore order in our city and curb illegal dumping, I led an operation to remove hawkers who had shifted from the CBD to the outer edges of Uhuru Park completely blocking both sides of the walkway. This move follows inciteful remarks made by the Embakasi East MP, who encouraged hawkers to occupy CBD walkways and public spaces under the guise of being poor and trying to earn a living. But since when did poverty become a license to break the law? If you visit cities like Kisumu, you won’t find hawkers occupying walkways, blocking pedestrians, or dumping garbage everywhere. Why, then, is Nairobi expected to tolerate such disorder? Why do some leaders and citizens glorify impunity and normalize illegality, forgetting that where there is disorder, criminals thrive stealing from innocent pedestrians and turning our city into a place of fear? If we are truly committed to transforming our systems and embracing good leadership, we must support government officers who are doing the right thing. We cannot keep justifying illegality by using poverty as a sympathy card. Being poor should not be an excuse to disregard the law. I was insulted, harassed, and embarrassed last Friday by hawkers who were doing business but at the wrong place. They blocked walkways, made it difficult for pedestrians to move, and disrupted shop owners who pay rent, permits, and taxes to operate while hawkers don’t pay rent nor business permits and yet they block customers from accessing shops of those who rightfully pay rent . This unfairness cannot be ignored. If standing for the right thing is what some call harassment of the poor, then let me be that 'bad person' because one day, Nairobi will look back and celebrate those who stood firm for order, justice, and sanity in our city. What I am doing is not new to the people of Nairobi; it is firmly grounded in the laws and regulations of the Nairobi City County Government. 🔹 Nairobi City County Solid Waste Management Act, 2015 prohibits illegal dumping and unregulated activity in public spaces. 🔹 Nairobi County Outdoor Advertising and Public Nuisance Act prohibits obstruction and public nuisance in walkways. 🔹 Nairobi City County Trade Licensing Act forbids trading in areas not officially designated for hawking. Let’s stop making excuses. Let’s enforce the law. Let’s build a cleaner, safer, and more dignified Nairobi for all.
