« Descending through the clouds, trusting nothing but our instruments. Slowly decelerating, selecting flaps on schedule to create the perfect combination of drag and lift from the massive wings far behind my cockpit. Gear down: the enormous garage doors of the main landing gear open up, and I can literally feel the added drag as the engines spool up to maintain sufficient forward speed. Speedbrakes armed, flaps to 30 — our final landing configuration. Landing checklist complete. All that’s left to do is find the runway and set her down nice and easy. Through the murky quagmire of rain, wind, and cloud, part of the approach lights become visible — the first sign of landfall in hours, for this aerial freighter in search of a port. Wipers on. We need all the visibility we can get now. “Approaching Minimums,” announces the automated system — meaning we are just 100 ft (30 metres) above our decision altitude. If we don’t see the runway at ‘Minimums’, we’ll have to abort the approach. With the approach lights in sight and close to the ground, my First Officer disengages the autopilot and continues manually, just as briefed. “Minimums.” The runway is clearly visible through the rain. I call “Continue.” Seconds to go: small but deliberate inputs on the controls and thrust levers with our eyes focussed on both the runway and flight instruments. The radar altimeter counts down the last few feet. Touchdown. Speedbrakes up. Reversers normal. We fly by numbers, but land with feel. That part never changes. » ©️ Christiaan van Heijst

An F-22 test pilot who flew 76 different aircraft told MIT students something that sounds backwards: a Cessna is harder to fly than a $200,000,000 fighter jet His name is Randy Gordon, callsign Laz. 2 combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. MIT graduate, 2018. Test pilot - meaning fighter pilot and engineer at once, someone who understands MATLAB and flies aircraft that don't exist in any manual yet. His opening line to the class: everything you learn about a Cessna directly applies to the Raptor. There is no magic gap. Here's why the 2 aircraft look nothing alike. The Cessna's high wing sits above the cabin. Great visibility looking down. Terrible visibility looking through the wing during a turn. The wing works like an umbrella in the rain - convenient, not combat-relevant. The Raptor's wing sits behind the cockpit and sweeps backward. That gives the pilot full visibility forward and to the sides - critical in a dogfight where seeing the threat first decides the fight. The sweep also reduces wave drag at near-supersonic and supersonic speeds. Then the part that changes everything: the F-22 has no mechanical connection between the pilot and the control surfaces. The stick and pedals send commands to a computer. The computer decides how to move the surfaces and vector the thrust to execute what the pilot asked for. This is called fly-by-wire, and it's irreversible - meaning the computer's decision is the final decision. Different flight modes activate automatically. In air combat, a G-command mode holds exactly 4G even if the pilot releases the stick. Thrust vectoring is fully integrated - the system decides when to use it. The pilot never touches a separate switch. The power for all of this comes from 6 permanent magnetic generators. Even with both engines shut down, as long as the turbines keep spinning from airflow, the flight control system stays powered. The tradeoff for all this intelligence: Pilot Induced Oscillation. If the system's gain settings are wrong - especially during a configuration change like retracting the landing gear - the pilot can accidentally fight the computer and rock the aircraft into an oscillation it can't recover from. That's exactly what happened during a YF-22 prototype test flight. Incorrect gains after gear retraction, combined with afterburner engagement, brought the prototype down. The Cessna forces you to fly the aircraft directly - every mistake is yours, immediate, and mechanical. The Raptor removes that mechanical link and replaces it with a computer smart enough to hold 4G on its own. Which means the hardest part of flying it isn't the aircraft. It's trusting the system enough to let go of the stick.

32 years ago today - The (in)famous Fairchild B-52 crash June 24 1994: a USAF B-52 crashes in Fairchild AFB (Washington, US). All 4 crew members die. Practicing aerobatics, the bomber stalled at low height. Inquiry noted the pilot´s behavior/personality and his superior’s lack of reaction to earlier incidents, becoming a case study for CRM. The accident occurred as the B-52's pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Arthur "Bud" Holland, maneuvered the bomber beyond its operational limits and lost control. The aircraft stalled, fell to the ground, and exploded, killing Holland and the other three crew aboard. The crash was captured on video and was shown repeatedly on news broadcasts throughout the world. This fatal accident was preceded by several other incidents, including one where the Holland missed a ridge by some 30 ft during a fly-by. A later enquiry focused on military leadership, due to several incidents that preceded the crash, along with CRM – Crew Resource Management. The subsequent investigation concluded that the crash was attributable primarily to three factors: Holland's personality and behavior; USAF leaders' delayed or inadequate reactions to earlier incidents involving Holland, and the sequence of events during the aircraft's final flight. The crash is now used in military and civilian aviation environments as a case study in teaching crew resource management. It is also often used by the U.S. Armed Forces during aviation safety training as an example of the importance of compliance with safety regulations and correcting the behavior of anyone who violates safety procedures. The occurrence is also known as the “Czar 52 crash”, which was the bomber´s callsign. Its registration was 61-0026 and was part of the USAF´s 92nd Bomb Wing ”Czar 52” was the B-52´s callsign. Its registration was 61-0026 and was part of the USAF´s 92nd Bomb Wing

We put TRON mainnet inside a Star Fox level. Then we let the news cycle write the final boss. Meet TRXFOX: a browser rail shooter flying escort over live TRON DAO data, powered by ChainGPT. Most blockchain games wear the chain like a skin. A logo on a billboard, a token in the corner, nothing underneath. We built the opposite: a game where the mechanics are the chain's mechanics. You're a pilot. Your job is escorting USDT transfers to finality, five blocks and a boss per run. The chain is genuinely live under you: → The HUD streams TRON mainnet in real time, block height and transactions per block, refreshing every ~3 seconds because that's TRON's actual block time → Your briefing shows the exact block you're defending at takeoff. Mine just read #84,619,787 → Your cannons run on Energy. Hold SHIFT to stake and recharge, mirroring how staked TRX provides Energy on the real network → Every zone cleared is a block hitting ~3 second finality The enemies are the network's real threat model. Your wingmate is SR-27, named after the 27 Super Representatives producing TRON's blocks while you fly. Now the good part. The boss doesn't exist until you take off. ChainGPT's news API pulls a live TRON or USDT headline. The LLM turns it into a villain attacking the network. The image API paints its pilot's portrait. The name lands on the health bar before you reach the final block. Yesterday it was TRONIC TERROR, Master of USDT Mayhem, born from a real exploit story that morning. Next week's boss hasn't happened yet. Score is TX Secured, the count of transactions you protected. No tokens, nothing to buy, just Star Fox with a working diagram of TRON's plumbing inside it. The whole thing was lab-coded with the ChainGPT Claude Code skill. One prompt wired the news API, the LLM and the image generator into the boss pipeline. Another turned TRON's staking model into the Energy meter. What used to take a game team a sprint now takes a prompt and an afternoon. Install: /plugin install ChainGPT-org/chaingpt-claude-skill Anyone can build on TRON with ChainGPT.

Sigh. I just had the credits roll in Pokemon Legends ZA, after 41 hours (i did a lot of side quests) You guys KNOW I am a HUGE Pokemon fan, always been. I grew up with the franchise and it was one of my biggest escapes growing up. I loved Scarlet and Violet, I LOVED Legend Arceus. Pokemon Legends ZA is.. so bad though. The story? Could have been a post main game storyline, barely any substance, barely anything of value. The main story is just the aftermath of X&Y. Some of the side characters stories is nice, other‘s is just annoying or forgettable. Character designs: Mixed opinion, some designs are peak (corbeaue), some are just blatantly awful and an eyesore (jacinthe). Map: ehhh, the map LOOKS small, doesn‘t feel small though. BUT if you take Legend Arceus in comparison, it‘s like 1/4th of the size if even? The parkour is done SO POORLY. It‘s boring and tedious. Looking back at Legend Arceus where you could literally climb mountains, swim and fly, the map traversal is just done poorly and boring. I get that they removed ridable pokemon because then the map would have instantly felt even smaller, but that‘s just an issue the pokemon/gamefreak created for themselves. They decided to have the game ONLY in the capital of Kalos. They also could have simply made the map bigger lol. Gameplay: PERSONALLY I don‘t see why people are praising the gameplay that much, maybe because it‘s finally something different? It‘s alright in normal 1v1 battles, easily becomes unreadable if there‘s multiple parties partaking (think mega battles before the final boss) The rogue mega battles LOOKED good, and they had a good idea, but WHY is the dash button on B, which is tied to the battle commands. Same for dodge being on the Y button. Bear with me, the rogue mega battles are done in a giant arena, and you have to DODGE and RUN a lot, while also ATTACKING the rogue mon. You you can only do ONE, attack, by holding down the left trigger and your A B X Y buttons transform into your moveset, or run and dodge. Just from a game design aspect, this is awful. And don‘t get me started on how buggy the gameplay is at times. Sometimes the trigger button does not even give me the attack moveset? (No its not my switch 2, tested on both switch 1 and 2 with both versions of the game) Right before the final part, my team is around lvl 65-70 and I more or less one shot everything. Now (and spoiler warning) multiple megas attack you, you fight alonsgide NPC trainers and the screen becomes so unreadable and my pokemon just get knocked out one after another? Idk if this is a skill issue, but the sudden spike of difficulty and the cluttered screen made that part really unfun. Final boss was just… awful. Two giant flowers appear, you have to knock them both out, but their damage is ridiculous, and they are super tanky. Then scene switch to Zygarde attacks Ange Floette, and repeat this for like 3 times. The rest of the fight also is just bad and boring. At least the cinematic looked pretty. The alpha pokemon that randomly appear are nice, but nothing of value was added by adding them. (Alphas were a HUGE story part in legend arceus, here it seems they are just throwing players a pity bone) The pokedex quest seems like it wants to be legend arceus so bad but it just misses the point. Legend arceus pokedex felt fun and enjoyable, legend za feels tedious and annoying. Shiny Hunting in this game is SO BORING. No sandwiches, no mass outbreaks, you just reload the area by fast traveling or resting at a bench. Can‘t talk about competitive. yet cuz I haven‘t gotten to it. Finally, this game is a 3,5/10 to me. If anything it made me wanna play Legend Arceus again

CHARACTER LOCK (Include in every prompt) There are exactly six teenage Starkeepers, all appearing consistently throughout the sequence. ⭐ NOVA (Leader) 17-year-old male Tall, athletic but lean Messy silver-white hair Bright sapphire-blue eyes that emit a soft glow Warm smile, confident expression White-and-gold long battle jacket with celestial embroidery, black fitted combat pants, white armored boots, fingerless gloves, flowing golden scarf that moves with the wind Uses a glowing sword forged entirely from concentrated starlight Fighting style: fast, graceful, heroic, precise swordsmanship mixed with light dashes 🌙 LYRA 17-year-old female Long straight black hair reaching her waist Deep violet eyes Calm, intelligent expression Dark navy cloak covered with tiny embroidered stars over a fitted midnight-blue combat uniform Floating crystal earrings Uses gravity magic with elegant hand gestures Fighting style: barely moves, manipulates the battlefield from a distance ☄️ KAI 16-year-old male Short spiky crimson-red hair Amber-orange eyes Constant grin Orange bomber jacket over black tactical clothing, finger tape, lightweight combat sneakers Large mechanical comet gauntlets glowing with fiery orange energy Fighting style: explosive acrobatics, punches, aerial flips 🌿 ELIO 18-year-old male Medium-length dark green hair Emerald-green eyes Gentle smile Forest-green coat with leaf embroidery, brown leather straps, wooden bracelets Uses glowing vines and healing energy Fighting style: defensive, elegant, protects teammates ❄️ SKYE 17-year-old female Short snowy-white hair Ice-blue eyes Confident smirk Royal-blue combat coat trimmed with crystal patterns, black leggings, armored boots Twin crystal ice blades Fighting style: aggressive, fast, spinning sword attacks 🌑 NOCTIS 18-year-old male Messy black hair Crimson-red eyes Serious expression Long black coat with faint purple celestial markings Shadow blades that appear from darkness Fighting style: silent assassin, teleporting through shadows PART 1 (0–15s) — "The Hunt Begins" A ruined ancient city sleeps beneath a brilliant galaxy-filled night sky. Crumbling stone towers are covered in glowing blue vines, and broken celestial statues line a deserted avenue. The camera begins with a slow aerial drone shot descending through swirling clouds before pushing toward the six Starkeepers standing together on the edge of a towering cliff overlooking the city. Their capes and jackets ripple dramatically in the wind as stardust drifts around them. A low-angle hero shot introduces the team. Nova stands confidently in the center with his radiant starlight sword resting on his shoulder. Lyra stands calmly behind him, her cloak floating unnaturally as pebbles levitate around her. Kai bounces impatiently, his comet gauntlets crackling with orange energy. Elio kneels briefly, touching the ground as glowing vines spread beneath his fingers. Skye twirls one crystal blade with effortless confidence while icy mist curls around her boots. Noctis remains slightly apart, half-hidden in darkness, his crimson eyes glowing. Suddenly the ground trembles. A colossal Celestial Beast—an enormous wolf-like creature made of obsidian rock with glowing blue cosmic cracks—bursts through the ruined streets. The camera rapidly dollies toward its face as it unleashes a deafening roar that sends shockwaves across the city. The final shot is a close-up of Nova's determined eyes as he whispers, "Together." PART 2 (15–30s) — "The Combination Begins" The camera whips forward as Nova sprints first, leaving brilliant golden trails of light behind him. A dynamic tracking shot follows his sword as he clashes with the beast, showering sparks across the ruins. The monster counters with a massive swipe, forcing Nova backward. Before it can strike again, Lyra calmly raises one hand. The camera rotates 360 degrees around her as gravity bends visibly through shimmering purple distortions. Entire stone pillars tear free from the ground and float into the air, trapping one of the beast's legs. Kai laughs loudly and launches himself like a blazing comet. The camera switches to an over-the-shoulder aerial perspective as fiery orange energy erupts from his gauntlets. He slams into the beast's shoulder with explosive force, sending fragments of glowing stone flying in every direction. Quick cinematic cuts show Skye charging across frozen pathways she creates beneath her feet while Elio's glowing vines race through the cracked streets, wrapping around fallen pillars to stop collapsing structures from crushing nearby civilians. Noctis silently disappears into a pool of shadows without anyone noticing. PART 3 (30–45s) — "Perfect Synchronization" The beast breaks free and unleashes a devastating energy blast toward the team. Time seems to slow. The camera circles them in a dramatic orbit. Elio thrusts both hands forward, causing an enormous wall of luminous emerald vines to erupt from the earth. The shield absorbs the blast while green healing particles wash over his teammates, restoring their strength. The camera instantly cuts upward as Lyra snaps her fingers. Gravity reverses around the monster. Massive chunks of ancient buildings float into the sky, carrying the beast with them. Dust, rubble, and glowing debris spiral in slow motion. Skye smiles confidently before launching herself upward, gracefully skating through the air on shimmering ice crystals. She performs a series of lightning-fast spinning slashes, freezing the beast's limbs with brilliant blue crystal formations. The music suddenly quiets. Behind the frozen monster... A dark shadow slowly rises. Noctis emerges silently from complete darkness, his crimson eyes glowing brighter than ever. In one fluid motion, he crosses both shadow blades and slices through the air, leaving enormous black-and-purple crescent trails that shatter the beast's defenses. Nova looks upward. He smiles. "This is it." PART 4 (45–60s) — "The First Team Attack" A sweeping crane shot reveals all six heroes surrounding the suspended beast in perfect formation. Lyra compresses gravity, pulling the monster into the exact center. Elio's glowing vines anchor everyone together, symbolizing their unity. Kai rockets high into the sky, becoming a blazing comet that crashes downward. Skye launches dozens of crystalline blades that spiral around the beast like frozen stars. Noctis creates an enormous eclipse behind the creature, locking every escape route in darkness. Finally, Nova rises above everyone, his sword absorbing streams of light from all five teammates. Their different energies—gold, violet, orange, emerald, blue, and black-purple—flow into one brilliant celestial blade. The camera rotates rapidly around Nova before slowing into dramatic slow motion. He dives through the sky, delivering one breathtaking slash. A gigantic six-pointed star of pure energy erupts across the battlefield, consuming the Celestial Beast in a dazzling explosion of light, ice, vines, gravity distortions, comet fire, and shadow. Silence. The dust settles. The six Starkeepers stand side by side as dawn's first light breaks over the horizon. High above them, one distant star flickers... then mysteriously goes dark. Cut to black. This single moment hints that defeating one monster has awakened a far greater threat, inviting viewers into the next chapter.

See a girl who claims to be a virgin dressing half naked, sexualizing herself and shaking bumbum on the internet. That's just to tell you that she's not the naive or innocent girl you thought she was and she always knew exactly what she was doing. Now, you understand why she went to meet a stranger in a hotel while not informing her parents and acting like she didn't know how it will end. Foolish people were attacking me in the comment section for calling her stupid for going to meet a stranger in a hotel rather than address the fact that it's pure stupidity from her part. People will rather focus on the final outcome that she was raped rather than the fact that it could have been prevented if she wasn't foolish to meet a stranger she wasn't intending to sleep with in a hotel. Nothing justifies rape and if I were the law, it's a death penalty straight but for this girI, i feel no sympathy for her. Call me heartless, that's your business. Young girls should learn to stop chasing social media attention, put their nyash in one place, and inform their parents and siblings of their whereabouts. But when you tell women this, the foolish ones will tell you: "Men shouldn't rape women for no reason." Please who doesn't know that? Weren't we taught not to steal by our parents, teachers, pastors and the law? Don't people still steal? So because stealing is wrong, you'll walk on a dangerous street known for stealing at night with a briefcase full of money hoping nobody attacks you because stealing is wrong? At the end of the day, she had a hand to her misfortune which is why I don't feel any sympathy for her. A woman who fails to protect herself in a dangerous world will get what's she's desperately looking for. The game might be brutal but it's still fair.

Yesterday, I had to make a u-turn while heading to my barber's, on receiving reports of a valid threat of extreme violence from Saudi Airlines' Kano-bound passengers who were stranded in Abuja due bad weather in Kano. Some other airlines had also diverted to Abuja for the same reason. I stood amidst over 200 angry passengers, pacifying, reprimanding, and resolving. This is the most adrenaline-rushing part of my job. It requires tact, firmness, wisdom, and team work. But it is risky. Some passengers are extremely violent. A huge, hulk-like, and highly vexed passenger threatened to beat me up yesterday. I looked at him. Initially, I was angry. But I saw the worry in his eyes and decided to handle him differently. We became best friends and he has invited me to his Lagos residence. I will not go, sha. I must acknowledge the support of our Honourable Minister, Festus Keyamo SAN, who insisted that the rights of the passengers be prioritised. He continued to ask for updates on the welfare of passengers late into the night. I am proud of the efforts put in by my DGCA, Capt. Chris Najomo over this matter. To protect the rights of Nigerian passengers, he made a number of critical decisions that established the dignity of Nigerian passengers. I must also thank Ifueko Abdulmalik for her role in resolving this saga. She kept communications with the Saudi side open. How do you leave 401 passengers stranded and say you'd return to your country without having made alternative arrangements for their movements to final destination? While acknowledging the fact that it was tough for the airline as they have no operational base in Abuja, the entire saga could have been handled more professionally. I met with the Saudi ambassador to Nigeria and made it clear that the airline cannot operate with disregard for the consumer protection regulations. Much later last night, we were able to conclude arrangements with UMZA to fly the stranded passengers to Kano via three successive flights. My team and I waited through it all. I acknowledge also, the stoic efforts put in by the FAAN Regional General-Manager of the airport. He stood with me through the entire ordeal and showed courage in the face of the intimidation. Umza airlifted the passengers thus: The first Umza aircraft departed ABV for Kano with a total of 74+4 passengers on board. The second Umza aircraft also departed ABV for Kano with a total of 73+4 passengers on board. The third and final Umza aircraft departed with 34 passengers on board. In total, 181 + 8 passengers were airlifted to Kano. Saudi has made a commitment to compensate the affected passengers. This brings to an end, a disruption of almost 48 hours that began as force majeure, transitioned to poor passenger handling, and ended with a great display of effective team work from the Minister, to the DGCA, and all the way down to our hardworking CPOs. In closing, I will say this. Passengers have a responsibility to understand the situations that are beyond the control of airlines. We must minimize the resort to violence inside aircraft and airport terminals this year.
