Millions of Hindu devotees worship today Goddess Shailputri (the daughter of the king of the Himalayas—Goddess Parvati). The only ancient temple dedicated to Shailaputri across India is in Varahmul (Baramulla), Kashmir. Feeling blessed that I was able to visit and pray at her temple today.

Around 2,500 personnel have been deployed, including crime teams and traffic staff, to ensure devotees do not face any inconvenience. Since morning, around 25,000 people have visited the temple. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is also scheduled to visit. For the first time, AI technology is being used to monitor the crowd, including the number of devotees carrying Bonalu offerings, for whom a separate queue has been arranged. So far, around 20,000 Bonalu offerings have been recorded. As the temple will remain open until 2 am, more than one lakh devotees are expected. All necessary arrangements have been made, and drones are also being used to monitor the entire security operation."
