Veteran angler Elliot Sudal accidentally hooked and landed an 8.5 to 9-foot, roughly 300-pound great white shark from the shore of Nantucket's south shore. Because the great white is a federally protected species, Sudal straddled the shark in the surf to safely remove the hook, releasing it in just 15 seconds. Sudal, known for tagging and researching sharks, has caught over 1,000 sharks in Nantucket waters, but this was his very first great white catch. One solid zap and the entire shop developed a healthy fear of touching his tools. Nobody “borrowed” anything, nobody adjusted the jaws, nobody even leaned on it for months. Then, as always, time passed. Memory faded. People got brave again. Started cranking it like it was just another normal vice. Shop entropy wins every time. So he said enough. Fresh wires, fresh connections, fresh attitude. The beast is officially re-armed. Touch it wrong now and you’re doing the full involuntary electric boogie.
