Robots are going to the moon before we do in the next 4-6 years. "I think any place that we believe there is a realistic probability of building a um you know an eventual human outpost. So the moon for sure we're absolutely going to build a base there and make uh the most of it. So any area that you're going to have uh you know human involvement eventually. The best guess under over when we see the first humanoid robot walking on the moon. In my mind, I I would think on the uncrewed lander demonstrations, which both Blue Origin and SpaceX need to do in advance of the lunar landing, that's already uh contractual. I'd kind of be shocked if somebody didn't smuggle one on board. But we're not waiting that long, right? I mean, you're you're talking the next 4 years, maybe 6 years as a window."

Deploying the Starlab space station will require an operational Starship and a new fairing for the rocket. We asked Starlab's CEO Marshall Smith about the $90M Starship contract.
