School kids in India discovered it 6 months ago...fuckin school kids, not even @isro engineers...school kids @NASA "3rd world Indian" school kids.

So what are they doing with sound waves to us now? And if they can put out a fire can they cause one? Like in Canada 🍁 or in Hawaii? Hmmm @AlchemyAmerican

putting out a fire with a sound, bub has watched a calm voice do the same thing to a group chat

Sound can break molecular bonds so this was a great idea . Low frequency = high wave length

The newer breakthrough is largely about practicality. Earlier acoustic extinguishers worked only at short distances; Sonic Fire Tech says its engineering approach can suppress flames from tens of feet away and route the acoustic energy through ducting.

They stole the idea from a spanish women..

Technology over a decade old. Students at George Mason developed first portable prototype.

@NASA didn't do it first... Pump Up the Bass To Douse a Blaze: Mason Students’ Invention Fights Fires | College of Engineering and Computing

Una jovencita de prepartoria, en México, hizo algo similar un extintor por ondas sonóras

"The concept of using sound to extinguish fire dates back to 1857, when Irish scientist John Tyndall first demonstrated that flames could be put out by sound"

Doesn't destroy or scatter evidence like water. Work smarter not harder.

NASA just stole this from a inventor that have discovered this decades ago

After using this method there would be a lot less cleanup to worry about in commercial kitchens vs. traditional extinguishers.

That was available 100yrs ago! Just buried like everything else

IN MEXICO A 13 YEARS OLD LITTLE GIRL DEVELOPED THE SAME TECHNOLOGY 😄

Fire extinguisher: defeated by the power of a very loud nope. Physics just discovered the mute button.

Ini baru penemuan kalo beneran mah

@EyesOnThePlan You mean like thunder...? 👀👀👀

Hidden for 100 yrs or more

That’s wild, imagine a speaker putting out a kitchen fire instead of a fire extinguisher.

O so sound can control fire. I guess Nasa knew what I was talking about after all.

Matter can changed, never destroyed.

Well if that's true why can't nasa engineers put out the wild fires in the United States and Canada?

How Sound Waves Can Fight Fires without Water A new sound-based system could squelch small fires before they grow into home-destroying blazes

@grok how well does this work in zero g?

Reckon they got the tech to start them as well... 🤔

@grok is it by vibration of air paticals via propagation of longitudinal waves. If so which class of fire does it able to extinguish

That is a very useful tool

I imagine putting these in smoke detectors and exhaust fans and hoods. They'd have to have safeguards, of course, because such frequencies make us sick, but it would be a good idea to try.

Interesting

So, the little boys from NASA needed to shutdown the Mexican girl and Indians boys, who 6 months ago released their prototype.

Everything is frequency.

Did no one ever watch the new MacGyver not the 1980s version but the rebooted version they had an episode where MacGyver built a sound wave generating thing a bobber to put out the fires caused by the oil well good episode

First discovered by the Mythbusters back in the early 2000s!
