NASA's Artemis II image library is still finding ways to render us speechless: Infrared tracking footage: Color tracking footage:

@NASA Star Wars opening scene vibes

@NASA Forget OnlyFans, @NASA needs to launch an OnlyFlames site - Budget fully funded 🔥🍆

@NASAWatch @NASA I like it

@NASA Max, what is burning in this area? Genuinely curious.

@NASASpaceflight @NASA I'm really glad to see this.... the tracking they were live streaming was so off I was a bit mad. We had better tracking in the shuttle era compared to what they live broadcast. This on the other hand is actually better than we used to get. So good to know we were getting it.

@JoeTegtmeyer @NASA THAT should have been the live feed! Wow.

@NASA The Space Launch System (SLS) generates approximately 8.8 million pounds (about 39.1 meganewtons) of total thrust at liftoff. This thrust, produced by two solid rocket boosters and four RS-25 main engines, is 15% greater than that of the Apollo-era Saturn V rocket.

@NASASpaceflight @NASA SLS is NASCAR and Starship is Formula 1.

@johnkrausphotos @NASA @dr_obbs what say ye? Looks like some F1 wing air flow. 😂

@Robotbeat @NASA Too bad they couldn’t show this on the live stream….

what’s crazy is those RS-25s alone run on liquid hydrogen and oxygen, burning at temperatures hotter than lava while the solid boosters are producing even more thrust on top of that Altogether, it’s one of the most powerful launches ever, and you’re literally seeing different types of propulsion colliding and shaping that plume in real time

@NASASpaceflight @NASA JFC, those “foil blankets(?)” on the SRBs…how do rocket engineers have this conversation: “well, we are gonna put some tin foil here and here, which is equivalent to the pits of hell being hit by Hurricane Katrina. We need it to last about 30 seconds then it can f right off.”🤣

@NASA Thanks MARS and NASA! Source:

@NASA Even cooler that they be using this for science and stuff and not just ooh's and ah's

@NASASpaceflight @NASA Ok I swear I saw distortion in the air from going supersonic. Two or so distinct lines went down the rocket toward engines. Did yall see it?

@NASA Half of X thinks this is fake.

@NASA Hell's Bells

@rookisaacman @NASA srb’s ftw

@TheMiddleborne @NASA 😳
@NASASpaceflight @NASA There are flames that seem to just be inhabiting the space above the RS25’s. It’s disconcerting to this amateur observer.

@NASA Look that that cork heat shield burn :D

@NASA That plume impingement on the underside is insane. The conditions those main engines operate it is quite something and they worked perfectly.

@rookisaacman @NASA Can I add that as my lock screen?!?!

@rookisaacman @NASA Someone please set this footage to Freebird.

@rookisaacman @NASA Where was this shot during the live feed?!! lol, they clearly have the cameras and the tech, route it to the switcher and give us the goods, what the heck

@NASA WOW Oo (cc @10943_Brunier)

@NASA That right engine cover is so hot right now…

@NASA This is really cool. (Or hot!)

@rookisaacman @NASA Wow

@NASA Hey 👋😊 sorry I have to tell the world that @NASA @rookisaacman took my years of physics research from Elon and made massive amounts of money because I was a vulnerable victim of a pedo who couldn't get healthcare. Elon probably lied to you but that doesn't make it ok. 👇

@rookisaacman @NASA 🤯🤯🤯🤯 wow!!

@johnkrausphotos @NASA Those booster are spitting fire so fiercely, why the hell there are flames UP the nozzle?? We don't see the fames going up!

@NASA Extraordinary !

@NASA This is incredible. Spacex mops the floor with their live coverage, but this tracking is way more smooth than and spacex track I've seen. I am blown aghast.
