That play was extremely unfortunate. Just before the play, Mackinnon was accidentally hit in the hip by Nurse. This left Mackinnon with no way to avoid the collision, and Ingram unfortunately didn't see it coming. As an Oilers fan, I would have called a two-minute penalty. However, the referees apparently prioritized the intensity of the contact over the intent. I can understand the referee's assessment, as Mackinnon was skating through the goal crease at a very high speed, and I think that's what led to the major penalty. The game was really exciting and well-played. Colorado is the title favorite, and their team strength is always impressive. Get well soon, Ingram! Please come back on the ice as soon as possible!

Avs fans blaming Nurse, Mackinnon was barreling straight into the crease, if your plan is “I’m going to skate full speed right across the crease and then dodge the goalie at the last second without getting touched” your plan is dogshit
