Pierre Poilievre says that the great thing about home building is that "it's Trump proof." "He cannot put tariffs on housing that we keep in our own country. It is by definition a homegrown industry, so when we're facing a losing trade war with China, with the United States and with others, why not build more here at home?" In my opinion, his anti-Trump rhetoric alienated him from a lot of conservative voters in Canada and had a lot to do with why he lost the election. If he keeps this up, I don't think he'll fare any better in the next. Leave the elbows up junk to Carney and the Liberals.

Sequoia Capital Partner Doug Leone on why his firm deliberately hires edgy people with something to prove: Doug Leone explains that his firm's relentless work ethic starts with hiring a very particular kind of person. "We hired people that had a shock in their system when they were growing up. Maybe they were shunned. Maybe they were too smart for their own good. Maybe they were left by a parent. Maybe they were in a vicious competition with a twin brother. We have all those." He includes himself in that description: "In my case, I came from Europe. I got abused in high school. I was pissed off." These early struggles produce a distinctive type of person — one Doug's firm actively seeks out: "We find these folks are a little edgy and for the rest of their lives they have something to prove in some ways not very different than founders." But hiring edgy, driven individuals is only half the equation. The real magic happens in how the firm shapes them once they arrive. "To end this war and go the diplomatic way, I don't need all this historical sh*t, because it's just a postponement," President Zelenskyy said on the potential negotiations with Putin. Other statements by the President of Ukraine from the interview with British journalist Piers Morgan: ◾️ Yes, people are tired. Yes, people want to finish with this tragedy. We want to stop Putin and end this war as quickly as possible, but in the right way, not losing dignity in any way. ◾️ Russians try to sell to their audience the successful steps, but they can't, really. Even the very nationalistic, very radical part of Russia doesn't trust their government and Putin because they see that there are no successful steps on the battlefield. ◾️ If the war is in Europe, I think peace negotiations have to be in Europe. The next meeting will also be in Switzerland. ◾️ We had two groups - military and diplomatic. The military group spoke about how to develop a monitoring mission for a ceasefire when it comes, when the political side opens those possibilities. ◾️ The result is closer in the military direction. We will have a paper where all the details will be written about how to monitor immediately after a ceasefire. In the political direction, it's more difficult. We don't have the same view. Even trilaterally, we have three different views on the land question. This is not simple. We try to be very constructive. ◾️ Russia's proposal for Ukrainians is to withdraw our forces from part of the Donetsk region, just to withdraw by ourselves, and the war will stop. But we can't just withdraw. It's unbelievable how that can be. It's our territory, and the temporarily occupied territory is also our territory. It's not just occupied, it's temporarily occupied. We are not recognizing it judicially, and we are not recognizing it de facto in any papers. Yes, it's temporarily occupied territories. It's very painful for us, but let's stop where we stand. And this is already a big compromise. ◾️ Donbas is a part of our independence. It's a part of our values. It's not just about the land, about territories. It's about people. It's about membership, and also about strategy for defending our country. For today, with all respect to the powerful American president and to America as a whole, nobody can give us a strong word that Putin will not come again. We need strong security guarantees so that the rest of the world, or some countries, will be ready to respond to Putin if he comes back with his aggression, or when he comes again. ◾️ It's not about me. We have to think about the next generation. We have to think about the next people who will sit in our chairs, and they have to manage this. We can't give them an empty paper. We need strong security guarantees. ◾️ I can't trust the person who killed so many people in Ukraine and who began a full-scale invasion against my nation. But in any way, it's not about trust. It's about deciding how to end the war. ◾️ I'm not sure that our teams can really decide the question of the land. At the end, it's our people who accept the peace deal or not. It's not up to anybody in the world. It's up to the Ukrainian people. ◾️ We speak about security guarantees because we don't trust Russians. Personally Putin, and personally Russians. It's not just about Putin. It's about the system, about people around him. Even when another person is in his place, and other people are in my place. It means that we have to speak about institutional trust. Trust not each other, but the institution of security guarantees.

American logically breaks down why Zohran Mamdani swearing in on the Quran is actually a very big deal “So Zohran Mamdani took his oath, and he took his oath by placing his hand on the Quran. And for most liberals, they're not going to care. They're going to say, hey, this is not a big deal. Do not look at this. Do not be islamophobic, and why is this even important? But to the people who actually study religion, who have actually read the Quran, who have actually been paying attention, they know that everything inside that book, inside their Bible, does not represent the views of Americans. On this day, 45 years ago, Paul Schrader's "Hardcore" (1979) was released in the USA. George C. Scott & Paul Schrader did not get along during the filming of 'Hardcore' (1979), so much that at one point Scott called the movie "a piece of sh*t", refused to come out of his trailer and threatened to quit the film. Scott only agreed to come out after Schrader got down on his knees & promised Scott that he would never direct another movie. (A promise which he didn't keep) Here is the full story: ""It was always a big melodrama working with George," Schrader commented, "but it was worth it, because you were getting a performance. What's really painful is when you're having trouble with an actor and you're not getting a performance. As long as you're getting a performance, it's all worth it." A particularly melodramatic moment occurred when Scott was not needed for three or four hours while shooting in the red light district of San Francisco. The lights were set up for a series of shots to look into a bar. When the lights were shifted for the setup with Scott coming into the bar, all he had to do was enter, say two words, and walk out. When the crew was ready, he had been kept waiting for several hours and refused to come out of his trailer. When Schrader went in, Scott was in his underwear with a bottle of vodka by his side. He greeted Schrader with "This movie is a piece of sh*t." Schrader tried to reason with him-he's tired, it's late, but all he has to do is get dressed, walk over to the bar set, and say two words. He told his star that sometimes in the middle of filming, you're not sure about quality of the final result, but that everything turns out okay in the end. In his continuing “Pool Monologues,” Trump hits a record ELEVEN AND A HALF MINUTES sitting with the NATO Secretary. I cannot emphasize enough… Try and read it. I dare you. 1/3 “The pool? Yes. It's in great shape. No. Ready? Thugs. They just told me a little while ago. Six have been arrested and like six or seven are under arrest. They have pictures and everything else. They went to the bottom and it's not a paint job. It's very expensive. It's not rubber but it's like rubber. And they went down with probably a box cutter or a very sharp razor of some kind of a knife. They cut and then they started ripping it up. You know why? Because there's sick people. And then the side of the pool, right at the water level, they took razors and they started cutting this very expensive stuff. It's incredible stuff. It's beautiful. And it's still beautiful. We have one area where they cut it. It's still holding. It's not leaking. But they hurt it so probably maybe after July 4th or maybe before. I don't know. Well, let a little water out because it's at the edge. They'll cut it. They'll replace it and it'll be as good as new. But these people should go to jail for a long time. You know, there's a statue that I saw when I had my first here that if you do anything to hurt statues or monuments, fountains in Washington, D.C. or federal fountain, it's actually federal all over the country. But you go to jail for 10 years and there's no shortcuts. In other words, it's not five years for good behavior. It's a very tough statue. And so tough that it really hasn't been used very much over the years. But I used it when they had a problem in Washington where they were trying to hurt the sickos, would try to hurt things, and I announced it. As soon as I announced it, read it, announced it. And I said, 10 years for anybody, everybody dropped what they had, including ropes. They had ropes. They were tying ropes around Thomas Jefferson's head, Andrew Jackson right up there, that a rope around his head on that incredible statue. I said, as soon as I invoked it, everybody left, that's still in play. They could go to jail for 10 years. They better be careful. They have a gash on that beautiful pool. It's a reflecting point. This is a very expensive material. Then on top of it, we did a much bigger job than we said we were going to do because we did all the outer areas. We did a beautiful job. It's like a piece of glass. And for some reason, this disturbed the radical left lunatics. You know, the guy that one of the guys, he's a member or a big pair to act blue. He's a big Hillary supporter. He's a big supporter of Sleepy Joe Biden. No, this is a very political thing. But as I understand it, six are under arrest. This was pure vandalism. It's an amazing thing that we did. Don't forget, it hasn't worked properly since it was built because it always leaked in 1922. So it was built in 1922. So that's 100 years more ago. It's never worked properly. I always said, had great potential. And I said in my first term, I'm going to do something. So Biden and Obama, between the two of them, spent over $100 million. It was a disaster. Obama, because of the environment, took the water from the Potomac, and it was horrible. It was bad. I don't want to have to tell you what happened, but it was really bad. You can read about it. We have one area where they cut it. It's still holding. It's not leaking. But they hurt it so probably maybe after July 4th or maybe before. I don't know. Well, let a little water out because it's at the edge. They'll cut it. They'll replace it and it'll be as good as new. But these people should go to jail for a long time. You know, there's a statue that I saw when I had my first here that if you do anything to hurt statues or monuments, fountains in Washington, D.C. or federal fountain, it's actually federal all over the country. But you go to jail for 10 years and there's no shortcuts. In other words, it's not five years for good behavior. It's a very tough statue. And so tough that it really hasn't been used very much over the years. But I used it when they had a problem in Washington where they were trying to hurt the sickos, would try to hurt things, and I announced it. As soon as I announced it, read it, announced it. And I said, 10 years for anybody, everybody dropped what they had, including ropes. They had ropes. They were tying ropes around Thomas Jefferson's head, Andrew Jackson right up there, that a rope around his head on that incredible statue. I said, as soon as I invoked it, everybody left, that's still in play. They could go to jail for 10 years. They better be careful. They have a gash on that beautiful pool. It's a reflecting point. This is a very expensive material. Then on top of it, we did a much bigger job than we said we were going to do because we did all the outer areas. We did a beautiful job. It's like a piece of glass. And for some reason, this disturbed the radical left lunatics. You know, the guy that one of the guys, he's a member or a big pair to act blue. He's a big Hillary supporter. He's a big supporter of Sleepy Joe Biden. No, this is a very political thing. But as I understand it, six are under arrest. This was pure vandalism. It's an amazing thing that we did. Don't forget, it hasn't worked properly since it was built because it always leaked in 1922. So it was built in 1922. So that's 100 years more ago. It's never worked properly. I always said, had great potential. And I said in my first term, I'm going to do something. So Biden and Obama, between the two of them, spent over $100 million. It was a disaster. Obama, because of the environment, took the water from the Potomac, and it was horrible. It was bad. I don't want to have to tell you what happened, but it was really bad. You can read about it. Biden, he didn't have any idea what the hell they were doing because he didn't know what anything was happening. But they spent over $100 million. We spent 14 or 15 in a lot less than that because a lot of these people worked for the Parks Department anyway. So they're going to work. So I would say a lot less. And we put a great surface on it. This is a world-class surface. It looked beautiful. But they came in and they cut it. And then they grabbed it and they pulled it up. That's why it's all ripped. And who would even think of it? They're sick people. So I think they're in big trouble. But here's the bottom line.”

'Prophet' Kevin Leal is VERY UPSET we called him a "self-styled prophet" and shared a video of him having a teenager eat a bible page, calling us demonic gossipers and ripping us a new one. Lumping us with Maranatha Express, a news aggregator that frequently uses our content, he has several objections to the video and commentary: -We never called his ministry or asked him about it before we shared portions of his public video. -We suggested his actions were unbiblical, which lowered his trust with his followers and caused them to doubt and question his prophetic ministry (This seems to be the main objection.) -We said he ate a page from the bible, when it was only a "2x2 inch portion" (It was larger than that, but we digress.) - Says we don't care about the fact that after this teen ate the bible page, he apparently stopped looking at porn and got right with God, and so the 'prophetic action bore good fruit.' -Notes that having the young man eat the portion of the bible page is "not illegal, unethical, immoral, or unbiblical. It's just that you didn't like it. So, you've made yourself a tool of Satan, and you have become the accuser of the brethren." -Can't believe we would ever be skeptical of his books which are about dream interpretation, and doesn't understand why someone would suggest it's not a valid spiritual gift. -Is upset we called him a 'false prophet,' which we never did. (even though he is. Instead we called him a "self-styled prophet," which has kinder connotations.)
