@OxfordUnion You have just argued eloquently the case for the UK to open up more fields for oil & gas in the North Sea, while the world generally transitions to using less fossil fuel. We will still need fossil fuels well beyond 2050 as it is used for many other applications beyond energy.

@OxfordUnion Blocking our own fossil fuel extraction increases dependency on imports from dictatorships and unstable foreign countries, via increasingly unreliable trade routes.
