Taiwan is not part of NATO why would NATO get involved?

But the reality is that military confrontation between NATO and Russia is imminent. Poland, Britain and Germany have been making tangible preparations for direct military conflict with Russia and building public narratives. Attempts to connect tensions in the Taiwan Strait with the Russia-Europe standoff are artificially constructed. There is no inherent connection between them. Rutte’s claim simply serves as a new pretext for NATO’s ongoing military standoff with Russia.

China is not stupid. They know they would face withering fire if they try to cross the strait. The failure of the invasion would roil the government and likely force a leadership change. They have no reason to gamble. Patience paid off in reacquiring Hong Kong, it will pay off with Taiwan.

This would explain why Putin is escalating his hybrid attacks against NATO countries, an action that has puzzled me. Why, given how badly the Ukrainian War is going, would Putin want to expand his war? Under orders from China?

In my view, Taiwan would be lost for the west unless China gives it the same status as Hong Kong but Russia would be wiped out. Just an opinion 🙄

A second front does not need to become a full war to change the balance. If China forces the US to concentrate on Taiwan while Russia keeps Europe under pressure and Iran absorbs resources in the Middle East, deterrence itself becomes more expensive. The strategic advantage comes from forcing the same alliance to prepare for several wars at once.
