@Brian_Kennedy Kirby is one of the most intellectually dishonest people I've ever seen.

@Brian_Kennedy Kirby knows how FoS he is here. Russia's response to NATO encroachment, Ukraine's ambitions for Western membership, etc. were entirely predictable. they knew Putin would take it as a direct threat/challenge both existentially and as a threat to their regional influence.

@Brian_Kennedy i'm no Putin lover, i know what he is, but i'm not gonna pretend that there wasn't Western provocation-any objective research easily reveals in 1 day of effort that much. Z also had several diplomatic off-ramps, then and now, which he's still refusing to take.

@Brian_Kennedy NATO is a defensive alliance that spread across the European continent and right up to Russia's doorstep. But they have absolutely no reason to be cranky about it.

@Brian_Kennedy the West doesn't even really care about protecting Ukraine, or they would've made the Budapest MoU a guarantee of mil support. all they wanted was to use them as a proxy to bleed Russia. heck, Von der Leyen even fantasized publicly about seeing Russia broken up into pieces.

@Brian_Kennedy it's really hard to sell the West as the "good guys" and Russia as the "bad guys", as simplistic as that is, when you understand the malign intentions of its leaders. Trump, as an "outsider", on the other hand actually wants the bleeding to stop.
