On the night of August 10, 2024, around 11 PM, Tungabhadra Dam’s Gate No. 19 was washed out, resulting in the loss of around 150 TMC of water. 💔🌊 In 2025, more than 180 TMC of water was wasted. Following the 2024 incident, the government restricted the reservoir’s storage to around 80 TMC in 2025, allowing farmers to cultivate only one crop. Gate replacement works began in November 2025 & by the end of March 2026, all the new gates were installed. This is the moment a £120,000 Range Rover ended up completely submerged after its owner tried to rescue his mate’s stranded van on Scarborough beach. 🌊🚗 Dramatic footage shows the roofs of both vehicles slowly disappearing beneath the rising tide until only an aerial was left visible above the water. The driver of the high-performance Range Rover SVR, packing 567BHP, attempted to tow a stranded Transit van out of the sea after both vehicles became trapped on the beach in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. But the rescue mission quickly turned into a disaster. After successfully getting two jet skis off the beach, both vehicles began sinking deeper into the sand as the tide rolled in. At one point, the pair were even seen trying to dig them free with nothing more than a plastic spade. 😂🤣🤭 Witnesses said they even attempted to lift the front of the van by hand.
