That is completely FALSE! NYC’s own records policy says otherwise. According to New York City Department of Records and Information Services (DORIS), the agency responsible for setting citywide records management policy and ensuring City records are properly maintained, their policy which was written on 05/02/2025 on instant electronic messaging is clear: “Messages created while conducting City business are CITY RECORDS” “Routine or purely logistical messages can be considered transitory and disposed of when no longer needed” BUT… “SUBSTANTIVE messages documenting or relating to the decisions, actions or policies of a City office or agency MUST BE RETAINED and transferred to a system that allows for proper preservation” If agencies have to preserve their own social media posts than certainly agencies that are paying others, using taxpayer funds to post for either positive messaging about the current administration or negative messaging about its political opponents has to retain those communications as well. What platform Mamdani’s crew decides to use doesn’t magically erase the government’s records obligations. Text, Email, Signal, WhatsApp, DM’s are irrelevant. The question is WHAT THE MESSAGE DOCUMENTS. Are these officials unfamiliar with NYC’s own records-retention policy or are they attempting to formulate a narrative and give the impression that government business conducted through these apps doesn’t need to be preserved? Is this Incompetence or Perjury? Either answer deserves serious scrutiny. And let’s not forget that this use of taxpayer funds is clearly Electioneering and ILLEGAL. At most tech companies, heads of design manage the people rather than the design itself, a separation Chesky found completely incoherent. "How can you manage the people separate from the design? Jony Ive would say, 'No, my main job is to manage the work. I build a team and we design together, but I'm mostly looking at the work. I'm not having career conversations all day long. That's crazy.'" Lean means every person is genuinely excellent and led by someone embedded deeply enough in the craft to judge their output. When that's true, decisions move faster and work gets evaluated on its merits. Most companies treat meeting overload as a scheduling problem.
