The protests happening in Tamilnadu on behalf of CJP and claimed to be against NEET is going directionless and haywire. Mocking chants against TVK, Vijay and Jananayagan release are being made for no reason, slogans are being read out in Hindi when the participants are Tamil. As usual parties like DMK and ADMK are celebrating this without knowing what it is. The actual protests are happening in Delhi as called out by the organizers and they are also worried about many other fringe elements mixing up with actual students with hidden agendas. People will support the protests anywhere as long as it is students led and its against the irregularities of NEET. Vijay's TVK Govt is very clear at showing the TN media their place. For long, TN media have been in the payrolls of DMK and have been publishing news favouring DMK, irrespective of whether DMK was in power or not. Every single scam and corruption was exposed either by politicians like Annamalai (DMK files) or independent youtubers like Savukku. The media played absolutely no role in that. Vijay's TVK Govt came to power only with the people support and the entire media, political parties and business ecosystem was against Vijay. Even today the media reporters ask only irrelevant questions and readily publish newscards that is against TVK. I strongly condemn the TN Government led by Vijay for arresting rap singer and my dear brother ‘Therukkural’ Arivu for speaking out against NEET. His voice reflects the sentiments and demands of not just Tamil Nadu, but millions of people across India. At a time when the CJP-led rallies and protests against #NEET are gaining momentum across the country, the TVK government has chosen to arrest Arivu. This sends a troubling message to the youth of Tamil Nadu who are considering taking to the streets in solidarity with the protesting youth in Delhi to oppose NEET. CM TVK Vijay is simultaneously trying to secure a stable majority for his government while also weakening both the DMK and AIADMK politically during the process. By seeking support from parties within the DMK alliance, Vijay is not only attempting to maintain the government safely above the majority mark, but also trying to strengthen his secular image politically. At the same time, by engaging with #DMK allies and potentially accommodating some of them politically, he indirectly weakens and isolates the DMK’s alliance structure itself. On the other side, his larger political objective appears to be the complete replacement of the #AIADMK space. He has already successfully triggered a visible split within the AIADMK and secured the support of 25 MLAs from the splinter faction. The continuing chaos within the AIADMK is indirectly helping TVK expand and emerge as the principal alternative force in that political space. Now, after the floor test is over and the government appears numerically secure, TVK Vijay may no longer necessarily require the continued political dependence on those 25 AIADMK MLAs, Which also means that he may not be under immediate pressure to reward them with cabinet berths, despite the earlier speculation and expectations. But a sense of uncertainty will always remain for this government and TVK will keep facing pressure from the DMK allies who joined TVK govt. As long as it is the students who are protesting and their protest is against the irregularities and mishaps in the NEET exams, the protests are totally valid. But the moment fringe elements creep in with ulterior motives, neither the state nor the centre should remain silent, It needs to be curbed. The recent developments have only shown that apart from the campaigns against NEET, its is slowly turning into side campaigns against Article 370 abrogation, slogans chanting de*th of the Prime Minister and staging a Nepal types rebellion. It is obvious that someone else trying to hide behind the student campaigns and achieve their objective. People like Arivu who kept quite during the DMK Govt are now suddenly jumping in to protest at a place that is not allowed for protests. The TVK Govt was polite enough to even have a discussion with him when he actually went against the law. Hon'ble Minister Udhay - தமிழ்நாட்டை தலைகுனிய விடமாட்டேன் as a responsible leader of a people centric movement speaks with historical clarity and political integrity. He explains why NEET is not just flawed but fraudulent. He recalls how in early days of medical education Sanskrit was mandatory to even apply for medical education. This was not about merit but about exclusion. He also explains that it was the Justice party, the ideological foundation of today's DMK that abolished such discriminatory practice. He highlights the case of Miss Nila Bharathi, a student from Tamil Nadu who couldn't secure a medical seat via NEET but later went on to top the State in the UPSC examination - the most competitive examination of the nation. He rightly points out that NEET isn't about intelligence, and implies that it's only about expensive coaching and repeated drilling. On the other hand, actor turned politcal actor, TVK Vijay takes a completely different route. Instead of standing up for the students of Tamil Nadu, for the health infrastructure of Tamil Nadu, educating them about the marketocracy of neet, he tells students "NEET is not the only exam" through which he implies that medicine is not the only field to aspire to. This is exactly what RSS BJP ecosystem has been repeating since NEET was imposed. Its a cop out, not a solution. By diverting attention, normalising NEET,and refusing to take a political stand vijay has shown a disturbing alignment with the BJP RSS narrative which seems to be deliberate and due to lack of political knowledge. DMK has the best governance and administration to run this government. It is not ADMK, NTK or TVK. It is DMK. Young generation wants to continue DMK. When India Today Anagha Kesav asked, do you need a change from the DMK. In the last 25+ years of TN politics, it was always DMK that will set a narrative using their media support and the rest of the parties will just follow up by reacting/opposing/supporting it. This is regardless of them being in power or in opposition. But for the first time, a new party, TVK, has been setting the narrative for which every political party, regional media, national media and Youtubers have been reacting non-stop. #WATCH | Chennai, Tamil Nadu | AIADMK leader Pandiarajan K says, "Let's not forget that both the Dravidian parties (AIADMK & DMK) together are still holding over 120 seats. I don't think there is rejection of Dravidian parties. There has been anti-incumbency against DMK, and the benefit of it has gone to TVK. I am sure the party has enough resilience to come back. Vijay could speak the language of the youth...I would see AIADMK bouncing back quickly. In the local body elections, 6 months from now, you will see a big difference."
