so his neighbor is nice enough to come over and ask politely for them to turn the volume down (which most neighbors don’t do anymore they just call the cops), and this guy is willing to burn a bridge with his neighbor and be a jerk instead of engaging politely with her

If the noise leaving your property in the middle of the night is so loud that it keeps your neighbors awake, then turn the shit down or close your doors and windows and turn off the subwoofer. You can enjoy your birthday without depriving your neighbors of their sleep.

Asking for common courtesy is no reason to get blasted on social media. Woman is totally in the right to make the request. The law allows people to be jerks, doesn't make it appropriate.

This feels rude. I don't know the backstory, if there is one, but she seems to be asking nicely. Granted, it's not 11 pm, but it also wouldn't have hurt to turn down the volume a little out of respect. If she called the cops, folks would have said she was wrong.
